Reeves-Maybin is better this year and having a very good year.

Maggitt is our Jacques Smith impersonator. Under-whelming relative to the hype.

He has 3 sacks this year after sitting out a long time and has a sr year coming. JS got his first sack of his sr year against KY.

Nice, inaccurate description. Someday, I'm going to create a thread for folks like you to post what they see during games because it must be damn funny to watch through the eyes of someone that has no idea what is happening.

It really bothers me that some of the people with "Alum" in their username typically have the dumbest post on this board. Some of you are doing a great job of devaluing some of our Degrees.

No one should ever hate on CURT Maggitt. He's a team leader for sure.

The statement about Maggitt could not be more untrue. His stats at the half way point this year are better than Smiths for almost any year. Plus Maggitt hasn't played in overy a year.He is just now getting back into ga me shape.

Do they give out a weekly prize for dumbest posts. Gotta be the reason so many people post as if they've never watched UT Football before.

I see what you're trying to say but there is no comparison to Jac, Curt is way better. How many times has Curt given up the edge compared to Jac? Plus,Curt actually gets pressure on the QB.

Curt been a solid player and part of the reason the defense is better this season.

He is getting better by the week.

This!!! Took him awhile to get his legs back under him after sitting out last year, but he has really come on the last few games. Great to see for this young man, should be our AJ on defense next year and lead the young ones

Just curious as to how much he actually has contributed on the field this year, after all the pre season chatter.

He switched positions entirely so there's going to be a learning curve, but he's been proving his worth lately. Also for the love of God name your threads something other than a players name. Invariably we always assume the worst (injury, arrest, car wreck, etc.) because let's face it we seem to have the worst luck in collegiate athletics.

No hate for Maggitt. Just not up to his hype.

The DL is actuallu tons better than we expected. How has he not contributed?

Reeves-Maybin and AJ are all over the field making tackles. Maggitt not so much; an average of just over 3 total tackles a game. While 3 sacks may be high on the team, it certainly is only fair for 6 games played. That is certainly not a lot of pressure from his position. Curt was hyped to be HUGE and his play is average. Average is better than poor as in year's past but it's not HUGE.

As he missed most of the pre-season with a high ankle sprain, don't you think maybe he's just now getting healthy?

Dude, you realize Curt plays end, right? Not many times you're going to see a defensive end getting a ton of tackles likea linebacker that you're comparing him to. And 3 sacks from anyone is exceptional considering how inexperienced the line as a whole is, and how they were expected to perform. Sacks and ttackles aren't solely the result of individual play at those positions.

By all accounts (from those who know something, not VN posters), he playing well and getting better each week. He's solid on the field and a clear team leader. One of my favorites. I know we make light of it sometimes, but he and AJ have "given their all for Tennessee", during a particularly rough stretch.
