Not very common for competent bird hunters to attempt to take an untrained 14-month old dog on a hunt, and expect it to magically behave as a trained bird dog, then shoot the dog for being a dog because they're too lazy and/or incompetent to train it properly.

She let her dog that she knew wasn't trained, out of her vehicle around a neighbor's livestock, and then when it acted like a 14-month-old untrained bird dog, and killed a chicken, she decided to kill it.

At 14 months a hunting dog should be past that and if it’s going off scent at 14 months it’ll never make a hunting dog. Plus it attacked the neighbors chickens.
