Petersen is an ILB. i dont believe he plays the outside hybrid DE spot like Kongbo. Could be wrong though.

That's too bad as he was having a very good game and we are thin at that position. Hope someone on the depth chart can step up.

I know Kongbo has not lived up the expectations that came with his recruitment but I still hate it for him. I wish him a very speedy recovery and hope he finds peace with it.

Don't see how he could. I hate it for him. Maybe if we somehow make a bowl, he could possibly come back.

In 2.5 months from ACL surgery? No, he will not be ready in time for a bowl game. One of my kids is currently rehabbing from an ACL tear and she is finally back to sprinting at about 5 months. Both the orthopedic surgeon and the physical therapist said that she is ahead of schedule. Recovery will also depend upon where the new ACL comes from (cadaver or graft from the patellar tendon).

That’s a shame. I saw that block on him and had a flashback to when Tony Robinson got hurt in 1985. It was a tackle but the stress to the knee was similar

Low blocks like that can’t be made illegal but players are really vulnerable in those situations

Agree. I’ve torn my left one twice. 2.5 months is unrealistic. Some people can come back that soon with a cadaver graft but it’s a lot higher chance of retearing.

Really sucks, in my opinion yesterday was his best game since he has been here. He stuck with his assignments yesterday and as a result was in the right position to make some really nice plays. He also seemed to show a fire yesterday that I don’t remember ever seeing out of him. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Kongbo! I will be pulling for you in whatever you do

Sorry to hear this news. Very disappointing for Kongbo and the team. I initially hoped it was a cramp.

Sorry young man. Hope for a speedy recovery.

Some BS is that ESPN website has it as one of their top stories but had nothing about us pulling off the upset yesterday to be found in the top stories. You had to search and dig for our team to find anything about yesterday’s game.

Was this is last season? Or could he come back for next year? That’s horrible if this is how his career will end. Hate that for him, remember his recruitment and the high billing he came with. Hope we are able to get him a medical RS and he can play for the big orange one more year.

Stinks especially since he finally was getting used to his new role in the new system and making plays. Anyone know about Johnsons injury?

ncaa rules, which are very archaic and open to interpretation on a team by team basis it seems state that a medical redshirt MAY be granted if the injury occurs during the first half of the season. This occurred in the middle of the the 6th game out of 12. My BVS always allows me to assume the worst

It was a cut block, not a chop block. With that being said, I think they need to look at making these type of blocks illegal.
with all the crap calls about player safety, still allowing blocking at the knees is pretty stupid
