Kongbo out for year ... ACL

Some kind of snake bit that this happens just as his name is getting heard on Saturday.

Not that up on the current rule set but the lick look like a dive at mid shin to me. If legal it still look like a cheap shot.
Legal doesn't always make it right and illegal doesn't always make it wrong.

That’s rough. I think that is why CJP made the comment, I have to get some clarification about “blocking below the waist” on the Jeremy Pruitt show because it happened to Darrell Taylor as well.

Both blocks were illegal. The one on Kongbo just happened to hit him right in the knee/shin area and got him. Officials can’t miss calls like those. Especially if they are calling the targeting calls they are calling. (If you want true protection of players you have to be as vigilant with blocking below the waist as you are with targeting)

It was a cut block, not a chop block. With that being said, I think they need to look at making these type of blocks illegal.

I agree even if the cut block is legal it is very dangerous if performed on a planted foot. Kongbo case in point. It clearly doesn’t take being engaged by a second player ( thus a chop block) to cause significant harm

Just saw it on the replay. It was a RB #27 that went low. That what a RB usually does when making a block on a LB or DL coming through the line.
