Kobe Bryant continues to be....

Meeks was a better player than Kobe last year.

Smush was a terrible NBA player, but had a rare anomaly of a year and was pretty damn good in 2006. Between Odom, Mihm, Brown, Turaf, and Bynum, they had 5 bigs that could get you at least 8.2 rebounds per 36 minutes.

Kobe was the only star with high scoring figures, so people think the team sucked. Kobe was a great scorer that year, and the rest of the team was good in other areas. It's no mystery. Kobe didn't magically carry a 10-win team to the playoffs...they weren't all that bad.

saw this on twitter... hoping it's an actual quote. If not, my bad guys.

@gregbeacham

Kobe on A-Rod: "He's one of the best ever to play. The difference is, sometimes he forgets he's the best. I don't."

just. yeah.

I cannot wait in five years when all of Kobe's teammates tell horror stories about playing with him.

He'll probably end up being the most overrated athlete of my time

Overrated? You CAN'T be serious. I mean sure, the guy has an ego. He had Shaq ran out of town. Still won 2 more titles, with likely a few more on the way. Say what you want about his ego or attitude, but saying he's overrated is completely ignorant.

Other than being an inefficient scorer and very good defender (who's become seriously overrated as the years pass), what is Kobe Bryant? He's not a good passer, average rebounder, horrible teammate, coach killer, etc.

Kobe has poor basketball IQ. The majority of his shots come from mid-range, and that's his worst spot on the floor.

Bored at work...here is the difference between Kobe when he was an actual star (but still overrated), and the modern day.

Kobe's best season as a scorer was 2006-07. He averaged 31.6 ppg (2nd best of career) and .580 TS (career best):

2012...27.9 ppg (5th best season), and .527 TS% (career worst):

Kobe is lazy. He doesn't get to the hoop anymore. 22% of his shots used to come from dunks and layups. Now it's just 15%.

what would really suck is to dump it in to a 7 footer and let him try to dunk on someone's face

the most egotistical, arrogant, self-infatuated, overrated ******* in North American sports.

Kobe Bryant riffs on Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, Jodie Meeks - latimes.com

I really loathe Kobe. That said, there was nothing in that article that he said that I had a problem with. Seems like he was pretty much telling the truth there. I am not sure why people get upset for telling the cold hard truth about players being defective (whether it is a former player or current coach).

Even though I've always been a huge Los Angeles fan, Kobe won't go down as one of my favorites. I like his killer instinct, but as noted, he usually takes it too far.
