KO Returns

That was a horrible play by Ainge. First off, he should have hard counted Cal. We didn't do that once all game and Cal had the snap timed from the first quarter. That was almost deja vu from the LSU game.

As far as the KO's go, I like what we got. Coker's burst will be nice, but I don't know if he lets it develop like Foster did. Coker may just try to run by everyone and get tackled at the 35. Now if he follows his blockers like Foster did, it's a TD. I still would like to see a few others get a chance.

Foster is obviously not as fast as Coker but he is reading his blockers very well. He should continue to return as long as he doesn't fumble.

How many kicks did you see go into the endzone?

That's another thing, unless they're about 5+ yards deep into the endzone, guys are going to be even more tempted to bring it out since the coverage team is farther away now which will allow the returner to get up to speed even faster before he meets the other team. Not good for teams that struggle to cover returns...

I saw several go in the 1st yard of the endzone...but certainly not even 5 yds deep...but average starting position was around the 25...maybe 30.

:salute::peace2:
This is off topic, but did anyone else notice when Ainge was blitzed and he tossed it to Creer that if he caught it he would of been gone for a touchdown. That hole was the size of the grand canyon. That was another missed oppurtunity.

:salute: One thing for sure lennon will be the best, Just think you guys are judging him on one Pass, can you Imagine when he get more playing time,
I can't wait.

We did alright on the returns, but Cal started every drive at midfield.
I dont know if five yards mattered or not but we have got some serious problems covering kicks

Clemson is showing that you can kick off from the 30 and still tackle the opponent inside the 20... We have no excuses

Nobody does, because the kickoffs wouldn't go past the 10 yard line and Cal would start on their own 40 just about every kickoff.

Yet another glaring deficiency of our Special Teams.

If a good kicker could put it to the back of (or through) a ten-yard-deep endzone from the 35, then he should be able to at least get it to the goal line. We just don't have a leg.

I noticed while viewing a replay of the Georgia/Okie State game this afternoon a particular nice, high kick to the end line by UGA that ended with a tackle between the 10 and 15. THAT'S how you get it done.

A weak shot to the ten + crappy coverage = defense in a hole from the start.

I say we scout the soccer team for a kickoff man.

It might seem like im obsessed but I want to see what Kenny O'neal can do. I heard so much rave about his speed. LETS SEE IT!

the field position at the beginning of cal's drives unquestionably was the key to the game.

It was huge. Kicking off from the 30 had a big effect on field position in every game I watched on Saturday.

Yeah...& the 22 missed tackles on Defense & thats not counting however many there was on special teams I bet there was at least a dozen or more there

Lincoln needs to learn to kick it past the 15-20 yd line. I don't think it went past the 15 all night when he kicked it.
