Knoxville/campus places to eat

The Sunspot, The Tomato Head, definitely Gus's Goodtimes Deli, Chesapeake. There are a ton of great places, but I haven't really been there since 99. I miss Knoxvegas all the time.

Another vote for Gus's...we ate there when we went to the O&W game this spring, and it was just as good as I remembered. Quite a bit more expensive than I remembered, though! But worth it, I think.

Watch out for gus's, even though that is the place that I recommend too. If you are hammered they overcharge the hell out of you on purpose. They have been doing this for years. But the food is awesome.

Litton's. Nuff said.

After all the hype I've heard about Litton's my girlfriend and I finally went there last Wednesday. We were both extremely underwhelmed. At first we said we would never go back but maybe it was just a fluke so I plan on one more trip. Fingers crossed

I love both of those. Also, for good food and great beer head to Downtown Brewery. I crave their IPA on a regular basis

Ruby Tuesday has burgers that are just as good. The one thing Litton's has on most places are the French fries. Maybe I was a victim of listening to all of the hype, also. But I was not just completely blown away or licking the plate after my first time there.

this is true, but never happened to me. i would use all the focus i could muster to calculate exactly what my goodtimes burger and fried mushrooms would be everytime.

plus they deliver in less than 15 mins.

is that where they relocated to when they got out of the fort? or was it always a 2nd location??

afaik, it was where they moved when they left the fort... I never got out that way (broadway) much during school... they must still use the same steamers because the sandwiches are still just as good!! bill (is that the old guy that was there every night in the fort?) has been at the new location every time I've gone in there! must just be in the blood...

aren't vic/bill related to the captains (sam and andy's) somehow?

There's still a Sam and Andy's out in Farragut on Kingston. Chandler's and Litton's are great as well. Gus's is good and iconic but expensive. Copper Cellar is another classic place on the strip that's great. Tomato Head and Downtown Grill are great, but more of the "downtown" feel.

Yeah the fries were great with some vinegar and dipped in ketchup. The burger was terrible. I thought they had fresh, hand patted burgers. The one I had was tiny and flavorless. It seemed like it came in frozen. Maybe I won't go back. While we're on the topic of food, where in Knoxville can I find great wings? The ones at Downtown Brewery are ok but I really want something good
