You want defensive structures to look complex to the offense, but sound to the defense so kids can play fast. Just like offenses orchestrate to create matchups, defenses dictate to find opportunities to combat that.

Gotta be able to match wits. Farooq imo is the key in the secondary. He had the most missed tackles 19 but the most forced fumbles, 4.

If he can become more consistent and still be aggressive, I think he can be an All-SEC player. Taking bad angles and missing tackles isn’t ideal but effort/strain is super important playing defense.

I think a lot of that is poor coaching because the whole defense played sloppy from tackling to angles to run fits. The scheme didn't help either. Glad to have a DC who will actually make the other team have to earn it.

it’s frustrating watching the same mistakes over and over. Defense got worse as the year went on. I’m not expecting Knowles to make this a 10 defense in year one, but if we can be in the 25-40ish range with our offensive weapons….that should be enough to win 8-10 games.

The schedule is gonna be tough and a lot depends on who’s playing QB.

I think we'll see a drastic increase from this year on defense. Hopefully the offense can sustain.
