Just curious - did anyone on here see "Blades of Glory"? Thoughts?

Eww... yuck! Easily the worst movie I have ever seen. Will Ferrel and Jon Heder just aren't funny.

Did anyone catch Will Ferrel and Sasha Baron Cohen do the nasty kiss on the MTV Movie Awards Saturday night? When I say nasty kiss, I mean make out for several minutes, not a Britney-Madonna kiss.

Will Ferrell is very funny but I like anything he does. Heder worked in Napolean Dynamite but I don't think he is funny.

Heder will never escape the Napoleon Dynamite character. His best bet is to begin doing sequels or start a TV show.

Wedding Crashers/40 Year Old Virgin are different kinds of funny.

I preferred Wedding Crashers.

Mom! The MEATLOAF~!

Absolutely cannot be as funny as the Wedding Crashers

I don't get the popularity of Wedding Crashers. I found it very disappointing. Will Ferrell's brief time was about the only funny part. Vince Vaughn had a few funny comments, but Owen Wilson may as well not have been in the movie. He wasn't comedic at all.

I'm a sucker for physical comedy, so naturally I liked Blades of Glory. I thought the chase scene across the lake and up the stairs in their skates was hilarious, as were all the competitions - I mean, Will Ferrell spinning Heder around his crotch in competition? I was rolling.

Vince Vaughn stole the show in both WC and OS. His dialogue was hysterical - he didn't need any other big-name actors with him in those movies. It was a VV show, and he delivered.

Definitely a classic scene. :eek:lol:

Knocked Up plays much more like the 40 y/o virgin. It follows one of the main characters as he takes on more adult responsibility. It is a hilarious, irreverent, raunchy movie with an interesting moral message.

A good deal of the comedy comes from some of the peripheral characters that other directors may have chosen to ignore. Like Virgin, it is funny for the entire course of the film.

VV was a riot through the entire movie, but the parts I found funniest were definitely the most subtle. His conversation with the priest after he finds out his Stage 5 clinger is not really a virgin. Like OW telling Ferrell "I'm not judging you, because I think you're an innovator" That's hard to beat.

Yes, the songs they chose for their routines were perfect. That first scene where Heder and Ferrell skate together is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in a movie.
