Knee braces

I wear them on both knees. I don't think I've lost any agility or speed. In fact, I think it helps in that department. My knees tend to really hurt when I bend them too much (like crouching). The braces really help in that department. So, I don't hesitate as much as I would without them. I'm quite a bit leaner and smaller than a UT O-lineman, though. It could affect them differently.

as a guy who does orthopedic bracing for a living, i can tell you that the reason UT's O lineman wear those DonJoy Defiance "ACL" braces is more a matter of philosophy on the sports medicine team's (head MD, head trainer, head coach) part than anything and they are a preventative measure. that particular company is used by a ton of SEC teams and the SEC i think even has a contract with them. DonJoy. find em at djortho.com I know that's what alabama and auburn use because i know the rep who fits them. I got my BS in athletic training from Troy and our head trainer wasn't a big brace guy at the time. i have fit a lot of these and i never hear lineman complain that they slow them down. helpful????

I also helps prevent the "Carson Palmer" like knee injuries. I am friends with several of the Titans current and former, and they said it doesnt bother them.

You fools, a knee brace doesn't restrict movement in any way that conflicts with the movement that a player makes. It protects the knee from bending laterally.

Linemen wear them because of zone blocking wear blocks are coming from the sides. You know, the blocking that the Denver Broncos are so famous for. Alot of the teams in the SEC have adopted such techniques, including the vols.

Knee braces are not a restriction on a players performance.
