Knecht traded to the Hornets | RESCINDED

Luka doesn’t want to be there and I’m sure Dalton doesn’t either…especially now.
Must be an amazing feeling knowing all this insider information nobody else in the world has or knows... You mean the Luka who looks up to LeBron and has stated he is his favorite player of all time? You mean Luka who will now be in the largest market in the NBA and given endless amounts of more deals because of it?

That has to be an awkward situation for Knecht, mentally, going back to the Laker's knowing that they just tried to trade him midway through his rookie year.
Can’t be any more awkward than Rick completely eviscerating you for missing a rotation in practice and then worshipping with you as a brother in Christ later that night.

LeBron probably has assists on half DK's assisted baskets. I have seen Bron give Knecht several oops, layups/dunks on cuts to the basket and kick out 3's. But, the Hornets would have been a better spot for DK, when it came to playing time. I still think he gets 12-15 minutes per game until Luka comes back.
I think he will get the 20 he was getting. Christie is gone, Reaves probably gets a few less minutes because there’s not as much opportunity for him with Luka and LeBron dominating the ball, and guys like LeBron, Rui, maybe even Vanderbilt and DFS will have to play at the 5 some.

They have 9 playable guys. One of them is 40. All 9 of those guys are gonna get run.

I don’t know if it’s amazing but it does feel pretty good.

Knecht is injured and was one that failed physical. Knecht has been just ok. Philly took the Duke guard that was having a much better rookie year before injury. Knecht a good guy off bench.

What is going on here?

Why do you put out this type of misinformation? This is not an ideological difference on the facts.

I think you should direct this to Luka, but I also think people need to stop taking this stuff personally. It's not they they didn't like Knecht, it's that they had a specific need and they brought in a mega star that wanted a center like Williams. If you're gonna get Luka you do what you can to meet the need and make the most out of it. I don't think it means they don't like Dalton or want him. It's how the business works. It's not like they traded him for a player of the same position.
I doubt Knecht is the type that will take it personally. Doesn't replace something being awkward when a team tries to trade you but it doesn't go through because Charlottes guy failed his physical.

Luka is playing tomorrow vs Jazz...

Question on behalf of us who primarily follow the Vols: Is Cam Reddish a complete bust in the NBA?

He’s only two years older than Knecht, although he has been in the league since 2019. Reddish was drafted 10th overall in 2019 (ahead of Grant Williams) while Knecht was drafted 17 in 2024.

Reddish has been traded 3 times in 5 seasons. If anyone needed a career boost, Cam Reddish returning to the state where he attended college may have been a great relief for an otherwise dud player. I wonder how he feels about getting stuck in LA with so many talented 6’ 6” - 6’ 8” perimeter players.

They can just acquire another big I’m the off season now. Long term this is great news for Knecht and then tbh. He will be a core piece for the next decade there if they keep him. I expect him to win a title or two during his career at LA.
Send him to the Grizzlies for Foul Ming. 😂

Going to be interesting to see if he just rots away on the bench now with Bronny.
The first issue with the Lakers is Reddick has no business being a coach.

I really wished DK ended up at the Warriors under Kerr or even went higher in draft to San Antonio with Wemby

Lakers are 3-0 v GSW and 2-1 v SA this year but tell us more about the Lakers issues lol

He went to 3 colleges and he’s a grown man and it’s the nature of the business. He’ll be fine.

I don’t think he will take is personally, Im talking about fans mad at the Lakers for trading him and saying they gave up on him and stuff. You’re right it’s gotta be very awkward.

Would have been awesome had he played for Charlotte Friday, scored 30 and won the game with a buzzer beater, then next day found out nevermind, back to LA.

GSW has no supporting cast and their young assets are trash.... DK is not trash... It is really isn't that hard to comprehend that wishing DK could go to a team with one of the best coaches of all time in Kerr where he would be able to be developed as the next generation....

Lebron has ran the Lakers for years with the "name your head coach pick", but this Luka trade shows that Jeanie is moving on to the future. Reddick is not going to be a coach capable to run a high pressure job like that. Especially when the guy who got him the job's influence is being ushered out...

The Luka trade is less of a statement to LeBron and more of a no-brainer. He's 5 years younger than Davis and has yet to sign a supermax contract, which is now not even possible for him because he's been traded. Dallas contacted the Lakers and no other team so they didn't even have to make a competing bid. Pelinka didn't have to be a genius to pull the trigger on that one.

Correct, but it’s clear that the “LeBron runs the franchise” mo has ended. Prolly after he got to get his kid drafted.

This. Also, Reddick has the Lakers playing well, certainly improved over last year. I don’t think they’re a champ caliber team unless they find a rim protector, but you gotta take Luka. I’m glad DK has opportunity to play more and learn from some of the best ever in a fun place.
