Knecht’s scoring is only something that comes along once every generation or two. Hopefully there’s something similar to SABRmetrics and the scoring of all 3 seniors as a group can be replaced. If Dilione returns that could be a big part of making ng it up. SV’s and JJJ’s defense will be missed though.

I have played with some great college players and I have seen many of them thru the years. Dalton Knecht is the real deal. Such a joy to watch. Even with their inconsistency, I love JJJ and Vescovi for the contributions to Vol Nation(class act and sports). This is from a guy who played at Memphis State in 1972-1973. From a Vol hater to fan, please go deep in the tourney.

ZZ not even the best defender on this team, but congrats to him and Dalton for the recognition.

I’m not anymore but I was in Louisville then Frankfort . I’ve bounced around many cities and a few states. Born and raised here and now I’m back here to die.
No time soon please. Sure many family and friends would be very sad when you pass. We're glad you are a VOL fan!

Doug Mathews played at Vandy and we don't hold that against him.

I think Freddie, Gainey, Carr & Shack all could step up big next year. Don’t think any one of them can fill DK’s shoes, but collectively the team can still be good next year.

I finally looked at the box score from the game. From what I understand Kentucky made some tough 3 point shots that they would be hard pressed to make again. Is that what really what happened or were open? I refuse to watch the game. They had 3 guys go off from the 3 point line and Dillingham wasn't one of them. I do wonder who was guarding these players.

A lot of open 3's in transition and off of long offensive rebounds. When we were scoring and forced them into half court sets it was a different story. They probably defended as well as they did all season, blocked a lot of shots, and got too many transition opportunities, and we were out of sync offensively most of the game, thus DK needing to play hero ball. All of that, and they have some great offensive players who will be playing at the next level in the not too distant future.

Starting over again in perpetuity.

I'll never see the attraction of being a fan of a one-and-done based program unless it's just the Kentucky or Duke jersey, name, and history and needing to root for a 'winner'. But this kind of fan is the same as the Giant and Yankee fans I was around when living in northern NJ for a time - they feel that the world revolves around their teams and that they're always relevant, regardless of recent results. These are the only fans I've ever known who watch nothing but their own teams, watching tapes of the glory days games over and over. A lot of Penn State and Notre Dame fans are the same way.
