Kirkland to play 70-90 plays

If we are expecting WVA to run 70-90 offensive plays, we should expect not to have a positive outcome to the game. Geez. That is a lot of offensive plays.

And I don’t believe Pruitt expects Kirkland to play every defensive snap, so is Pruitt thinking WVA will be running over 90 plays in the game? How do you win with a defense playing that much?

Hold on one cotton-pickin' minute!

Jeremy Pruitt took part in the SEC head coaches teleconference ahead of the season-opening game against West Virginia.

The SEC head coaches all get together in a group phone call every year just before Game 1 of the season?

I absolutely never knew that.

Do they get together on the phone other times as well?

What the heck are they talking about, other than DKJr's stamina?

Id rather them dink and dunk for 10 play drives then have to settle for field goals than have 3 play scoring drives anyday.

Wow I was thinking the max a linebacker would play would be about 60 guess Kirkland has shown a lot in practice after all.

I do not for a second believe Pruitt is expecting to see a bad defensive performance. He is strictly using this to suggest that Kirkland has recovered from his injury and could play an entire game if necessary. No coach goes into a game expecting their defense to get torn apart.

I believe that this was just CJP answering a question as to the health of DKJ. Saying that if called upon DKJ is capable of playing 70 + snaps.

Darrin has practiced all fall," Pruitt said. "Like I've said before, we've taken precautionary measures just moving into camp. When guys are coming off injuries, sometimes you put them on a pitch count. He could probably play anywhere between 70 and 90 plays. He's built his stamina up to that. I think he's in a good place."

Like UT did last year in the opener at GT. KMac was at DT for over 90 snaps. I don't recall who got 2nd most reps for UT but we're talking 'bout 300+ lbs. here and UT got the win.

He's not traininghis team to play 4 quarters, he's training them to play 6. That's winning the close ones in OT.
