If he picks longshots and is wrong, then he can say "well, I just wanted to mix things up and be exciting!' If he's right, then he can brag that he knew all along.

I'm Kirk Herbstreit and I'm a jacka$$. Florida and LSU re-match...hmmm I don't know. LSU yeah, UF possibly. I love how were not even in consideration. Only Florida and Georgia. No Tennessee, S. Carolina, or even Kentucky as it seems he's jumping on their bandwagon.

I think I might give up message boards. Picking Tebow as SEC MVP doesn't make someone an idiot.

I would say we're in the mix...it just comes down to how well our JUCO kids can step in and play. I wouldn't put it past us. Noone expected a SEC title game a few years ago...

i agree, UGA has some questions but what team in the SEC doesn't? Stafford started to settle in late last year and play well, they are loaded at RB, get Bailey back at WR along with Massaquoi. Mike Bobo called a great game against Va Tech and their offense will be dynamic. Their defense is a question, especially without Paul Oliver, but they have plenty of athletes in Athens to compesate. I don't see it a stretch to say UGA can battle Florida for the East at all.

Agreed on all counts. UGA's defensive questions aren't any worse than UF's.

The fact that he did not mention Tennessee at all in that segment speaks volumes. Halfway through the year last year, Herbstreit called us "the best one-loss team in the country"; now we're not even worth a mention. We must not have impressed him down the stretch much, huh?

As our friend droski likes to point out every other post; Herbstreit also picked Miami to win the National Championship last season.

yea ok so a team that had a bad season gets more mention for the SEC east then a team that went 9-4 and has a senior qb?... thats y i say its ridiculous because he didnt even mention us for anything... o well what does he know anyway, he went to Ohio State..

Georgia's "bad season" resulted in a 9-4 record, too. And they won their last three games against good teams, whereas UT could easily have lost to Kentucky and lost to a bad Penn State team. I can see why people would like their outlook for 2007 better than ours.

o ok i didnt kno they finished 9-4, shows how much i keep up with them... but still we deserve atleast a mention with a senior qb who has started all 4 years

Herbstreit has nothing against us; as I said, after the SC game last year he said we were the best one-loss team in the country. If he felt we were worth mentioning, he would have. Recent history has not exactly indicated that we'll be the team to grab the bit between our teeth and separate ourselves from a division in which everyone has questions.

Let it be a positive that he didn't mention us, as most everyone else won't be mentioning us either. We'll prob be ranked around 15th or so preseason, so let the lack of respect be a positive and go in as underdogs, with a little more to play for instead of having the pressure of being favored.

I agree that we deserve a mention as a contender in the SEC East, but, so does South Carolina, and I don't think they were mentioned either.

I don't know why anybody would be upset with Herbstreit. The name of the show is "College Gameday"; not "The SEC Today". He can't possibly be expected to go into the nuances 3 or 4 teams deep into the Eastern Division of the SEC.

Herbstreit has actually given us alot more praise than his co-hosts have. He doesn't ramble on like Corso does. Sure, he might make a prediction that i don't like but I respect the guy.
