I agree with Kirby. However anyone taking much from his comments meh. Just like Butch, Kirby will be overly complimentary leading up to the game. The trash being spewed by Florida pregame will be enough to remind Kirby is doing the right thing by praising Tennessee.

If Chubb plays he won't be 100% but make no mistake we are in for a dogfight between the hedges. We will get UGA's best shot.

Jim Chaney couldn't run the ball here, and I don't think he can do it at Georgia. Bielema ran the running game at Arkansas.

We need one of the Georgia players to say "a Duck can't whoop a Dawg" and guarantee a Georgia victory..then we're home free!! :)

And for D4H to say Georgia will skull*%# UT.

A win prediction from the eye talent of D4H= the kiss of death for said winning team.

Just hope he dont predict a UT victory 👊

UGA will come out fired up like everyone else. As it's been we will take their best shot and end up beating them like VT and FL.

I was just fixing to start a new thread with exact thought.Win or lose our guys play the whole 60.Few years ago I wondered if we would ever get back to that again. We might not win them all but I promise you this the opposing team will be sore on Sunday

Amen to that!

There used to be an era I felt sorry for opposing QBs. We'll be back to that in another year, imo.

Be very careful of the classic over reaction for this game.

We aren't as good as the second half indicated in the UF game and UGA isn't as bad as their last game against Ole Miss. I expect the game to be close until a late drive to seal the victory for TN by 10.

I will be happy if I'm wrong and we blow them out though.

UGA's secondary and pass D isn't playing well even against spread teams with minimal run game.

UT should go for the jugular early on O then grind them to sand. UGA's only chance is to hang around and catch some breaks to keep up.

PS- Their FG kicking is a significant problem for them. The guy they used Saturday was a walk on.... and he's no Derrick Brodus.

IMO, UT is every bit as good as they played in the second half in the UF game and maybe better. UT should move the ball better against UGA than they did at any point vs UF. The UGA O is different and that makes it more of a concern.... but not so much better than UT shouldn't give them a lot of problems with penetration and QB pressure.
and UGA isn't as bad as their last game against Ole Miss.
They beat UNC who appears to be a decent team. They struggled with Nicholls and a Mizzou team that isn't very good then got stomped by an Ole Miss team that has had its own problems.

I expect the game to be close until a late drive to seal the victory for TN by 10.
I expect it to be won by the kickers if UT lets them hang around. If UT presses them early and goes up a couple of scores, I think it will get out of hand.

I think Smart is doing a bit of a "premptive" strike in case he gets blown out by the VOLS.

I'm not saying that is going to happen, but it looks like we are playing a lot better at this stage than they are.

If we DO blow them out - a couple of things to share that are in my thoughts.

  • Maybe Florida was a pretender. Their wins were against very sub-par competition.
  • If Georgia is just as bad, isn't it amazing how weak the SEC-e has become?
  • Our two SEC-w games are against the best over there. Why can't we get an Auburn or LSU in a down year?

I dunno about the preemptive strike, mostly because I do not know anything about kS's personality.

I totally agree with the list and think the west looks really good right now. It seems like their teams are a little better top to bottom. Tennessee needs to learn how to play/coach all 4 quarters to win the darn game.

The puppies will put up a fight but if the vols are the team we all hope then they should win by 2 scores at a minimum.

Georgia will not rollover. At some point they will learn how to play kirbys D and get much better. I hope it is not next week. Their Oline will improve as will their QB. We should go ready to play 60 min.

If Chubb plays, he will not be 100%... GA will be better than they played Ole Miss, mainly because they will feel cornered and pressured in their own backyard... they will try and come out strong (hopefully for once this season we do the same), But I think if our D plays well, we will wear them down the second half.

Temnessee was the most physical team Alabama played last year (of course he was their DC). I believe he's right.

Also, they won't know about Chubb until later in the week....
If we win big Saturday can we start calling him Kirby "Not So" Smart?

Looking at it further.... UT still had a drive ended by an INT plus 2 more that ended with punts in the 2nd half to go with 3 red zone failures and 2 or 3 more drives that ended in UF territory in the 1st half.

UT can play significantly better than that on O.

If we didn't have our heads in our ass the entire first half with all the dropped balls and miscues in the secondary, the game would have been much worse for UF.
