Kirby Smart can’t beat Pruitt.

Yep. I watched enough UGA football this year to know where they were weak, or weakest. I have no idea what happened against Auburn, but that was the flattest UGA looked all year. I thought that the OU game would be a shootout, and I thought that the Bama game would likely come down to turnovers and/or who made the one big play. In the end, each team had their TO's and their big plays, but Bama just made one more than UGA did. And they picked the perfect spot to get it.

Like I said, simple as that.

Go Vols.
Probably the BIGGEST issue that led to Bulldogs success in 2017...not one starter missed a game due to injury.,,THAT IS UNBELIEVABLE...and in no way does it diminish their success...,but that MUST BE at the top of the success list...

I just don’t believe it. I think Pruitt will beat him again and again. It doesn’t matter what kind of recruiting class Smart has there. Pruitt will find a way to beat him just like he did in the 4th quarter on defense. Sherrer and Pruitt=trouble for Florida and Georgia.:clapping:

Sure. One has elevated his program in a short time, and the other has never been a head coach. Right.

For I said it a month ago, Pruitt knows Smarts system. Pruitt knew what was coming in the 2nd half, and he made the adjustment to shut it down. Now, I believe the 2nd time around, he will be even better to shut it down.
For I have said, he knows Mullen’s system. He knows Sabans system. He knows 🤔Jimbos system. He even knows that coach from South Carolina’s system. He has been around all of them before. Gus from Auburn, it is much sweeter, because he really knows his system. Coming from the SEC West is an advantage that he has. That is why Philip Fulmer chose him. :clapping:

And Pruitt will systematically defeat them all.

Pruitt and Smart will have the exact same system. They will know each other well because they are both Saban clones. The only way they will beat Daddy is if they out recruit him.
Yea, they may have, but Pruitt knows how to beat him and has already showed that.:clapping:

I hope you're right. Listen, I'm a JP fan, but I'm not going to ignore the fact that he's had elite talent and depth everywhere he's been. I hope and believe he'll get our roster there, but it won't happen over night. And, be careful giving JP all of the credit for the natty. There's a guy down there named Saban that had a little something to do with it, too.

Again, I hope you're right. Go Vols!
Saban will be Saban, but Pruitt made the adjustments in the 2nd half to beat them. The coaching staff that he brung in knows how to make adjustments, and that is something we aren’t used to anymore. I think we see it right at game one in 2018.:hi:

I know you’re not being serious, so I’ll play.

If Pruitt can field a team like Alabama did in the CG, where EVERY player is part of a #1 recruiting class, then you are correct, “it doesn’t matter what kind of recruiting class Smart has”.

I prefer to let the boy coach at least 1 college game as HC, before I rate him ahead of the guy that lost the NC in OT, in only his 2nd season.

Yes, I’m being serious here. I think Pruitt will find a way to beat him and Cheney again in 2018. I’ll even go farther and say he beats Mullen in Florida. :clapping:

Well as long as you think it, it must be true.

Thanks VN for zero requirements to create a thread. Thanks OP for your obviously well thought out analysis. We all know that Alabubba's NC is due only to Pruitt. That's why he was the fourth choice for the UT HC job...lol.

Right now I love CJP and so do all VFL's. We'll see down the road. Your silliness in thinking he owns Smart--or anybody else after just getting hired for his first HC job is pretty hilarious tho. We all loved Butch the first year or two or three.

Agree with everything here, except that JP was our 4th choice. Imho, nothing that happened with Currie/Haslam before Phil became AD counts. That was a completely disheveled, unorganized ish show. All that counts to me is that JP was Fulmer’s first choice and he got him.

Not to discount Georgia’s this past season. But they had no season ending injuries, which was a huge advantage. Staying healthy and having depth is a pretty major deal, is my point.

That was a HUGE key to a great season. Still, they were good.

Dude stop! You sound like you didn't even watch the game. The Bama offense got them back in the game (Tua) and the Georgia offense went Cold Stone flavored Vanilla .. that win had NOTHING to do with Pruitt. Sony was gashing them but for some reason (maybe a Sony injury but we never found out) they went with Chubb almost exclusively in the 4th quarter. Very few passes in the areas they had success in. Saban beat Smart but Pruitt's defense gave up 23 and quite a few yards.

This is correct but the earlier post saying that not one starter missed games due to injury is incorrect. Parrish, who got smoked a lot in the NC game, missed a handful of games and was obviously not very fast by year's end. Patrick missed games due to his own stupidity, 4 games to be exact. The initial right guard, Kindley, missed games early and eventually lost his starting spot to Ben Cleveland.

Despite that, yes, they did play the majority of the year very healthy and as you mentioned, that does help.

I think everyone keeps forgetting about him being around all of these coaches before. The trees that he came from, he learned well. Sabans and Jimbos? Oh yeah, that right there gets me excited. Poor Clemson and Dabo even got shut down. The man is a winner, and poor Smart knows that Chaney will get whipped every time by Pruitt.:)

you act like Pruitt will be going against a jr pro football coach and smack him by 50 every time. it's so stupid

It always helps making coaching adjustments when you have the most talented roster in CFB and have signed more 5* players than the rest of the SEC combined

Sure doesn't hurt to have a 3-deep that is that loaded. Heck, Bama's third string could win the Pac12.

Wow. Not so sure Pruitt would agree but go with it.

BTW, Pruitt didn't beat UGA, refs did.

Wow! Ok! I’ll agree, there might’ve been some bad calls in there, but come on man, you had the lead in the 4th quarter, and let it slip away. I’ll congrats you on a good game though, and a great season. You guys were tough. Now, you have your great recruits, but I think when it is all said and done by Feb. the 7th, Pruitt will have just as good of recruits as Georgia. Pruitt will get it done.:hi:
