I received a text stating that he was about to come up on the sports animal. I was away from my desk and couldn't listen in. Can anyone elaborate on what was said??

Sorry I don't know anything more than a text I received.

Who cares, he said he way all vol then things did not go his way and he left to go to the SEAHAWKS. I am disappointed because Kippy is a home town boy here in Monroe County. I think he needed to be more logical about this situation.

I don't blame Brown one bit....if he didn't get a legit interview after he was told he was a legit candidate, and then we hire a WAC coach with a losing record, why stick around?

I don't remember Hamilton ever saying that he was a legit candidate. If he did, it wasn't until Brown declared himself a candidate.

From the interview it sounds like he had no intention of staying on the staff if he wasn't hired as head coach, he said that he had contacted Pete Carroll even before he was interviewed.

Fact is, this guy would rather work for Lane Kiffin or Pete Carroll than he would the University of Tennessee. Thanks, Kippy, but no thanks. How a guy who would say yes to the WR coach position could then be offended he wasn't named HC 3 weeks later is confusing to me.
Basically, to sum up, he says he doesn't know if he got a fair interview, but the tone is that he doubts he did. Then he talks about his Monte and Pete Carroll connections, how he was already talking to Pete before his interview, and even says Lane is getting treated too harshly by Vol fans. I agree, can't blame him for going home, but Kippy was there when O was calling EE's and Bryce and Janzen... What happened to 'moving is overrated'? After hearing this interview right after his interim coach presser, I'm glad we didn't pick him. To talk as much about loyalty to UT as he did while in negotiations with Carroll for the Seahawks job is pretty kiffin.
He also thanks Tennessee for backing him. Very PR, not necessarily very genuine.

Has anyone else noticed the Dooley and more to the point UT, is on the front college football pages of SI.com, ESPN.com, Scout.com, Rivals.com and a less than flattering article on CBSSPORTS.com?

If Knoxville is home-coming for Brown then why was he able to so easily leave 1, 2, 3 times now.... I think this was a sympathy interview.

Didn't work.

He might be a class act, but he did get a interview and Hamilton said today on the sports animal Kippy put his interview off, he was suppost to be the first one. So in my opinion I don't really think Kippy wanted the job, his heart was in the NFL.

and if he didn't really want the job, i'm glad that he was not lured into it by a big offer.

getting us back on track is going to be a big job requiring a lot of determination and skill. CDD seems to have the former, we won't know about the latter for a while.
