i'm a fan and always will be a fan i was glad when cut came back cause i new he had what it took to make a decent offense into a good one and i hope he does good at duke but when you are a predictable offense anyone can stop you. true also about the spread offense cause i wasnt very impressed with auburn even though they didnt run it that much but still. and we have always been hurting in the depth chart weather people got hurt or what i can remember many of times since 2000 we could have been sec champs and NC if it werent for injuries

Our Focus on this team and the real revamps should be on Defense. The 85 team was full of average and below average SEC caliber players but they got their act together. the 98 Defense was the best overall defense with depth. And the 68 was just simply put the meanest and quickest defense you will ever see at Tennessee.

That is where we have recruited talent on both sides and not coached them up. Now we are not getting the talent and are not coaching them up. Cut as great as he was with Andy Kelly and others (except the Manning Brothers) has not really put anybody in the Pros that has panned out. The Mannings could have played Pop Warner Football and made it. We need an OC who can teach from experience now. That has the right mix of NFL and College experience. That can teach decision skills on the field versus using there talents alone. Cut did it but the Mannings got more from their Family (dad and each other) than from Cut. He was a good coach but not everything we have him cracked up to be and definitely not an Offensive Genius....

Freak????????

Who is UT looking at for OC?????

I'm in the dark just as everyone seems to be. I'm still intrigued by the Kippy situation since Fulmer said Monday he was still scheduled to interview him after the bowl game.

It's going to be interesting the next few days to say the least.

IMO I think CPF should be looking at Mike Martz as OC. Remember what he did with the Rams. Now that the Detroit Lions have made the mistake of letting him go we should bring him in.

Kippy is making a mistake. In two years like history of the past in Detroit, the Coach will get fired and Kippy will not get the job.

Wait and see.......................

I don't think Kippy would have been the answer to the Lions' problems anyway. I'm kind of on the fence about this... I'm not sure what to believe or what to even hope for anymore. I just don't want it to impact recruiting in a negative way.

KB may have or anticipate multiple job opportunities and just be sorting out his own preferences. It seems CPF has not offered yet, but KB may be waiting like the rest of us.

That's how it looks from the outside.

Probably. I don't think he's been your guy.

Remind me, who do you like most?

I wouldn't be against Kippy if Fulmer does a thorough search and decides he is the best candidate. I would be opposed if Fulmer had already offered him the job a couple of weeks ago as was rumored. I don't want a repeat of the "search" that went on after 2005.

I don't really have a favorite at this point.

ESPN is reporting Martz was fired and Kippy Brown and the offensive line coach have been named co_offensive coordinators from a source inside the Lions organization. Martz confirmed the firing to the Detroit Free Press.

ESPN - Source: Lions fire Martz, promote Colleto, Brown to lead offense - NFL

That's an updated story to what has been out most of the day. Everyone is still wondering if KB is still at the top of our list and if so, is that the hesitation in Detroit, would he take the UT job over the one he has there, etc.

It's still at at "sources repot" stage... that's been a bit unreliable thus far.

NFL offensive coordinator ~500k
College offensive coordinator ~250k

which one are you going to take?

Thats a loose term nowadays. To quote cuba gooding jr in jerry maguire "Show me the money".

that was my point. I love the company I work for (and the opportunities they gave me) but if I can double my salary then I wouldn't even pack my pictures.
