Wonder if this changes anything where the Vols are concerned? Anyone have any updates on coaching searches?

Kippy isn't the offensive coordinator, but he's been promoted to assistant head coach and passing game coordinator...he'll also serve as running backs coach.

well, do you think that is enough to keep him in Detroit? do we really even want him? honestly?

Kippy needs to jump ship! there will be a Detroit cleansing after next season!

That sounds like a stupid way to run an offense? Kippy is an assistant coach and Coletta is the OC? So a position coach is ranked higher than the OC?

it's enough to keep him in Detroit. Think about it, they must have discussed all of this with him prior to the announcement.

the way ESPN wrote the article, Brown and Coletta are both going to run the offense.

Neither LSU nor tOSU run a spread. Spread teams aren't looking that convincing in the bowl season. Why do you think that's the answer?

kippy brown would be a good choice if TN is going to make him a HC after CPF but i dont see is happening and therefore i dont see him leaving the NFL ranks. once youre in the NFL and youre making it good why demote yourself

i didnt see anything good about LSU this year besides they got lucky. i never said get rid of the power I but throw in a spread a lil bit and you got a winner, a heck of a lot better than what we have had in the past 5 years

Wrong answer. We do not have the type players to run the Spread. Next, the more teams that run the Spread the easier it will be to defend against plus less prep time.

We need something that opens it up but keeps a steady mix in the bag. Finally, our offense is the type that keeps Good HS prospects in line to attend UT. Not Cut not Troop but our Scheme and dedication to it.

With the spread, we are just another College Football team. FL had their success with it, but it was a mixed bag last year with Leak and Tebow. They had the best of both worlds. Yesterday was a good example of what it might look like in the NFL. 35 points I know you will say that FL Scored but three of those were short field points that NFL teams do not have the opportunity to score on in one game.

And remember the most important thing about Offense, it is not very good no matter what scheme if you ain't got Defense. Defense wins national Championships not Offense.

Best team and impressive was USC. They are so balanced on both sides of the Ball. Been that way for the last 6 years. Did they run the spread offense. No. Let the Spread Go.

And that is what my fascination with Cignetti is all about.

true but id like to see something better than run up the middle loss of 2, pass out in the flats gain of 1, pass for 3 yrds incomplete. we have been a consistent predictable offense the past 5 years, honestly there was no difference in Cuts offense than what we had from randy sanders offense except Cut got the job done

Where's the guy that said he was friends w/ Kippy and said he would announce today that he was the next OC? Didn't he say he wouldn't ever post again if it didn't happen?

Cut did what Cut had to do. We are beginning to see Less and less athletes on the field for Tennessee in Key positions. Talent factor is falling off here and I am more concerned. Even the O & D line is dropping. Our players played great yesterday but overall talent on both sides of the ball is declining on paper and we are not Coaching them up like we should. A lot of show right now but a lot of no go right now too.

We are beginning more and more to turn into a team that says wait until next year and look at what we got coming back. I was a Fan and am a fan in those years that talent was very lean here. I hate using the words and quit using them in 1980 we finally arrived in 85.
