According to Wes Rucker, Kippy didn't get a legit interview and may not be staying.

Per Wes Rucker:

I can tell you there are lots of rumblings that Kippy didn't exactly get the legit interview he expected. Can't confirm that, though.

and

Might not be possible to keep Kippy, but Inky shouldn't be a problem

I'm going to be pissed if Kippy doesn't come back because Hamilton didn't give him a real shot at the job.

If he should leave, do NOT blame Dooley. Blame Hamilton for supposedly not giving him a legitimate interview.

Kippy's supposed to sleep on it tonight and meet with CDD in the morning. Hope we can keep him.

I would LOVE to keep Kippy, but I wouldn't blame him for leaving. Reports of Dooley being the man were leaking out before he even got his interview. After the way he stepped to the plate, he deserved better.

Still thought he was an excellent hire and would like to hang on to him. Be upfront with the man, if he's not your guy, tell him and don't string him along.

If true then hamilton should be let go. Its already difficult enough taking in this hire, knowing this decision is the biggest in UT history. I now finding out that possible one of the greatest coaches in UT history didnt get a legit shot. Bye hamilton

Kippy said two days ago that what is important to him is the U of T. If he was to dip now, he would loose some credibility.

I like Brown a lot, but if a guy who was hired to be the wide receivers coach in December gets pissed off because he wasn't considered as a serious head coach candidate in January, then that's his problem.

I would like to have seen Kippy get the job, but it's obvious that Hamilton wants to hire young energy guys. Kippy's only five years younger than Fulmer. He was never going to be the coach except as a last resort.

At the time he said that he was thinking he would get a legitimate interview. Considering CDD was announced BEFORE Kippy even had an interview, no way he loses credibility. Not with anyone who has half a brain anyway.

If it is about Kippy's interview then OK. I thought he said it was about Tennessee.

He wasnt a good candidate

He may not have had as good of a resume as the initial top candidates, but by the time we got down to today's candidates, Kippy should have at least been considered. If he was only given a token interview and not really considered, then I can understand why he would not be happy with staying here. It would not surprise me either beings Hamilton has really messed the hiring process up over the last 14 months.

A week ago Kippy was happy being the WR coach. Where is he going to go and get a better gig? I think he stays.
