Hope we will be as prepared for UCLA as we were for WKU. Any news on the readiness of the team this week?

Wed practice was OK, but Kiffin hopes for a hard intense practice today like he had last Thursday.

Kiffin has stated that the Vols aren't good enough to look ahead. The UCLA game is huge for the Staff and players---they will be ready. Now come Sunday------:)

I think the intelligent Fla fans (oxy-moron?) will be just a little antsy. Some will be thinking "They can't really beat us--can they?" :eek:lol:

Not a shot we are looking past UCLA. We have to remember that Kiffin and Co. don't hate Florida like we hate them, at least not yet anyway. Instead they hate UCLA like we hate Florida, so I think we will definitely be ready to open a can come Saturday.

The team I am sure is focused on UCLA.

But let's be honest. UT fans care 1/50th as much about UCLA as they do the Florida game.

I'm glad they play UCLA this week. It gives the defense an opportunity to hone in on the color blue! Nothing like well programed orange missiles. An opportunity to see and feed on adding the color black to the equation.

You are an idiot. Do not dare post on the board in florida week. I'm sick and tired of all this negativity. Anybody can get beat on any given saturday. What about the players that read these boards think when everyone says we are going to get killed by florida. We have a great shot for upset.

I've been a Tn fan since the 86 Sugar Bowl. I've watched through the years, the good and bad. I will say this, I feel way different about our chances with anyone now. Our guys are well-coached and I say we upset Florida. It will be close but we won't get hosed. I'll be here to accept the flames if I'm wrong-which I'm not. Anyway, before that, we have to deal with the Bruins. I think we'll win this one too. I hope we beat'em senseless. Go Vols! Another thing, Ppl need to be optimistic about this season. Being optimistic is'nt stupid or drinking koolaid, it's supporting your team by showing your faith in them and our coaching staff. Nothing wrong with that. Uf for example, does'nt shy away from flaming anyone-never has, and that was way before they became as prominent. Thanks

Again I think folks are underestimating us, I can only hope Urban is stupid enough to follow their lead.

If the team wins big against UCLA, how electric will this board be for Florida week? I am really looking forward to the game this weekend...I want to see some payback for last year.

First things first, you might wanna brush up on the board rules if you plan on hanging around here for very long . Second, please point out to me where I said that we have no shot at beating UF. That's right, you can't, because I didn't. Read my post again. Just because you don't like the fact that the college football world is saying that we have no chance doesn't mean they aren't saying it, and it doesn't mean it's true.

I might add in Lulu's defense that, even if it were the case that there is literally no chance of a UT upset (something I don't think anyone is saying), then Lulu is perfectly free to say that (even if he/she isn't).

In my experience, trying to quantify the chances of upset is pretty tough.

Do you say 20%? And does that mean that if the game is played five times, UT wins one of them? That is useless, because its only played once.

The phrase 'we are not expected to compete' refers to the fact that, generally speaking, those who follow football don't give us much of a chance to win the Florida game. Personally, I go into every football game expecting to win. Not sure why I got flamed but hey, maybe his girl dumped him last night and he's just having a bad day, who knows...
