Kinda Excited about this Season. Agree?

With the new coach, the new philosophy, capable qbs at the helm, this year begs to be different. We have an actual guy that was a head coach at a winning program that has potential. Seems a lot different this year. Minimum of eight winnable games. Agree?
Haha I’m excited every season… but tempering my excitement more so than in the past because of the past… Irony is, Huepel could be the greatest real cause for excitement since Fulmer.

Looking forward to College football overall with full stadiums, for as long as it lasts. The Vols? Sure. But suffering from BVS, hoping for some good games with a chance.

I'd welcome losing a game scoring in the 30s or 40s. Not sure what I remember what that's like.

I am ready for the season, I think we will overachieve some this year. I think we will play hard and fight all 4 quarters. Don't know what the record will look like, just play them one at a time and try to keep getting better every week. GBO!!!!!
I certainly hope so. I'm just wanting to watch some UT games where I don't have to take a nap after half time or 3rd quarter.

Not really but I really wish I was. Hopefully this team shows something special.

Hate to burst your bubble. Preseason optimism is fun, but the swing to reality once the season starts will happen.

Starting from scratch... 1st year coach, entirely new coaching staff, largest defection of talent via the transfer portal in the nation, program under the cloud of forthcoming NCAA sanctions...

Love my Vols, but the next year will be painful. Watching Huepel's O light up the scoreboard will be fun, but our D will be equally lit up.

We are thin but not devoid of talent. What we need more than anything is playing as a team with passion and good qb play. We get those two things and we do better than expected.

I am always excited for a new season. Even in a bad year, I hate to see the end of a season. We only get 12 or 13 weeks per year of UT football so I always look forward to it and always dread the long off season. For me, the only sport that moves the needle is college football.

Our defense won't be as bad as many predict. Our offense won't be as good as some suggest. We'll be a middle of the pack instead of a bottom feeder like under the last staff. and that's okay for now.(until the NCAA cloud fades away)

I’ll watch all the games, but I don’t have near the optimism that I’ve had in the past. I’ve been burned too many times to artificially get my hopes up this season.

NO! I have acute BVS. Bought into Kiffen, Dooley, Jones, but not Pruitt. I'm in a depressed "show me" mode. Until we can beat one of UF, UGA, or Bama, I"m not buying in.

After seeing how hyped these players are so far in camp…it is evident they feel it too. It is literally night vs day now.
Just like under Butch. Excuse me because of my BVS, but I don't have a lot of hope this team can get it done this year and Heupel isn't exactly lighting it up recruiting. Not much reason for long-term optimism at this point in time with what I've seen thus far.

This is an undeniable fact that a lot seem to ignore. We have 4 guys at WR that can run a sub 4.5 or better in the 40 at WR, and 2 guys that can do the same at the RB position. We are one of the fastest teams in the SEC at the offensive skill positions.
Bro we have 4 guys at WR that run a sub 4.3 and 2 guys that run sub 4.5 or better. We have a lot of speed at WR. Jimmy Holiday, Jimmy Calloway, Jalin Hyatt and Velus Jones pretty sure those run in the 4.3. Jones might be closer to 4.4 but he's between there for sure. Just based off camp notes JaVonta Payton has some wheels as well.

Yeah! Also RB Wright is a speed burner, and DB Rucker. We ought to have some kick returners with wheels!

I hate to sound like a downer but until I see this staff turn the corner and produce wins I'm holding my expectations until I see results. I know we have fans that have bought all in as they they did with Butch and Pruitt and we saw how that turned out.Hate to say it but I'm a battered vol and that feeling won't go away anytime soon until I see something on the field that gives me hope. Even if he looks like I weasel and if he can coach I can get around that. What I want most is the program to regain it's prestige and I'm not sold CJH is the man to lead us there but I hate to think we have to go through 3 more coaches before that one who will take us where we need to be comes along.

After hearing what I've heard from knoxville our D is a strength to the team. Now does that constitute into the season? No clue but eyes outside of the media has said they can play and I hope they are right but I'm not giving up on our D until I see it for myself. And jeez I thought I was a downer....

I really wish I was excited but it's reached the point where I feel the people left in charge of Tennessee football have not done their job. And I think that if they don't care, then why should I? I hope for the coaches and players' sake they have a good, safe season. But the old feeling of enthusiasm and excitement is gone for me.

6-6 would be a great year.

Don't expect anything better, and you'll enjoy the season.
