I can’t not watch. This is the first time in my life I’m dreading having to see my team play. I think it’s a bad match up and the JG curse will take another glorious college football Saturday and dump all over it.

Ditto, u hit the nail on the head. This game looked like a sure thing in sept, but they have played above their talent and the Vols below ( a lot) . JG is only part of the problem- the 5 star OL line is average , LB play is bad, secondary bad and no pass rush from the D line. Why arent these guys getting better as the season progresses? It has to be coaching or effort which is part of coaching. Say what yee shall- If we lose this game , esp. by 20 points , Pruitt will never survive it. I am expecting ( not wanting) a score like Hogs 35, Vols 10. It is enough to make a man cry .

Enjoy the football Saturdays dude. I realize we are down right now, but we only get so many opportunities to watch UT play.

Going into the Arkansas game 2-3. Hard to get pumped up. Kentucky debacle still stinks up the joint. JG starting. It's football time somewhere.

I know what you’re saying, but I just don’t think he’ll let JG stay in there and watch the team quit again if there are some terrible decisions made.

We have been saying that for 3 years now. I'm not sure I will ever understand Slingblade's attachment to #2. Oddest thing I have seen in football, almost.

ESPNU had the Tennessee Arkansas game from Little Rock in 1997 running today and even then we did not play extremely well being ranked number 5 at the time. Watching Jamal Lewis and Shaun Bryson in the same backfield was something to behold.

Historically we have struggled with with Arkansas from time to time, going back to the 1971 Liberty Bowl (14-13) and the 1990 Cotton Bowl (31-27), with games in Arkansas always tougher than most.

At one time Arkansas was Tennessee's other permanent SEC opponent when the conference was divided into the East and West until 2003 when the cross divisional permanent opponent was reduced to one game.

Ought to be a very good marker of where this staff and this team are, nothing but pressure on Tennessee in a must win situation, out of the conference race, on the road, not much enthusiasm for a complicated season, I'll watch, right after Georgia and Florida,

The Georgia-Florida tilt should be the best game of the weekend in the SEC.

I was also surprised that Tennessee is favored in the game at Fayetteville.

Tennessee has always had problems with Arkansas in SEC baseball and men's basketball since Arkansas joined the SEC. Coach Vitello was a top assistant at Arkansas before becoming head coach at Tennessee.

We have far more talent than Arky (and GSU). To his credit, Pittman has his team prepared and playing hard though (can't say the same for us). If we come out prepared and wanting to play, we will win by 2 scores. If we see what we've seen the past 10 quarters, we will lose by multiple scores.

Evidently you missed my point. We are "Supposed "to have more talent. I Have seen NO EVIDENCE Of that.

I used to always get really excited about our games, but now I’m to the point that I almost dread it. Especially games like this one where we really should win but you know there’s a pretty decent chance we won’t. Before the year started, I was thinking Arkansas might be our easiest game of the whole season...maybe an even easier win than Vandy. They had lost something like 20 straight SEC games and had been blown out in the vast majority of them. Plus they had a first year head coach who didn’t even have prior experience at the coordinator level. And we know from experience that it apparently takes at least a decade for a new coach to turn a team around! But now I’ve got somewhat of a bad feeling about this game...hopefully I’m wrong. You’ve got to give credit to Sam Pittman and Arkansas though...it is really impressive how much they’ve improved. Even in the games they’ve lost, they have just been so much more competitive than they were in past years. And Arkansas is not the kind of program that I would associate with being able to do a quick turnaround.

I actually have a good feeling about tomorrow. If you really think about it, we’ve only lost one game we should have won this season. 0-2 against Georgia and bama with a great half showing against Georgia. 2-1 against the likes of usce mizz and ky. Last year people were saying we wouldn’t even win one sec game, so 2-1 against our eastern equivalents isn’t bad. Really just goes to show you how Pruitt and that 8 game win streak has changed the culture around here.

On another note. I hedged my bets and bought small shares in three marijuana stocks. They're up 60%. Wish I'd bought more.

To me, this is a huge game for Jeremy Pruitt. If we lose to Arkansas with a first year coach that has overall less talent with Pruitt in his 3rd year, his seat starts becoming mighty warm in my opinion.
You can’t say as a coach that we’re closing the gap to Alabama after getting blown out by them yet again, and then turn around and lose to this Arkansas team coming off a bye week.

And yes, the QB situation is his and the staffs fault, one way or the other. Either by their stubbornness in continuing to play JG, the inability to develop one of the other many QBs on the roster to beat out JG, and/or the inability to evaluate talent at QB. Either way, it falls on the staff and ultimately Pruitt.

Starting to feel like every game is make or break

I'm actually looking forward to this weekend.

Because if we lose its all on JG and Pruitt and maybe just maybe ol Phil will start to see the writing on the wall.

I'm so sick and tired of seeing this glorified spoiled practice QB trot his ego out on our beloved field and handing us an L week in and week out. And I'm sick and tired of a rent a coach thinking he knows what he's doing when it's obvious to everyone he does not.

No we are not coaches and no we are not making millions but anyone with half a brain and blurry vision can see where the problem lies.

So what if we don't have "a QB". That's why we are paying this bozo millions to get us one. And this year doesn't even count against eligibility. We have a 5 star going to waste. Use him before he transfers along with everyone else!

Just went back and looked at CBJs record in his 5 years on the hill and Pruitt’s is looking eerily similar. We must see a drastic improvement in 2021. Here’s what I think keeps Pruitt’s job next year:

6-2 record in the SEC.
No blow out losses.
No major scandals

I’ll be deer hunting in South Texas, watching on my phone in the blind. If we lose to a team with a first year coach and 3-star roster, I can at least shoot some hogs on Sunday morning.

You know what's sad? Reading this whole thread and crying and laughing at the same time. That's sad right there. Guilty. What's wrong with me?

Man. The. Hell. Up.

I probably would not have said it exactly like that BUT my sentiment is the same. People have serious issues all over our land but dreading watching a football game IS NOT ONE OF THEM! JMO....
