It is a forgone conclusion that Fulmer is gone at the end of this year. Who do we want? Here is the type of coach we need:
1) Someone who knows the SEC and can recruit the South.
2) A proven head coach at a major school.
3) Someone that can win the BIG GAME esp. vs. Alabama.
4) Available (this rules out Butch Davis).
Answer: Tommy Tuberville!!!

It is obvious that relations between TT and the Auburn people have gotten so bad that this will be hislast year. Let's look closely at the merits of hiring a winner.

Coming into this year TT had won nine out of the last twelve against top ten opponents. He also has won six in a row against Bama and four in a row against UT. Compare Fulmer's record in the past ten years against Top 10!!! Give me a coach that doesn't choke in the big games for a friggin change.:realmad:

A comparison to Fulmer is not a convincing endorsement.

WVU wasn't a top 10 team. Besides Auburn's season is shot anyway.....just like ours. I'm just saying someone will get a very good coach and I don't see many proven coaches out there this year.

You take a serious risk when you bring in a coach from a school like Cinnicinati or Boise State. For ever Urban Meyer you get ten Jim Donnan's or Curley Hallmans.

Why do we need to hire a coach with a worse record than Fulmer in what has been the weaker division of the SEC?

Auburn does play Georgia and Florida every year plus LSU and Bama. So I don't think your argument holds. BTW, who do you think should replace Fulmer?

i don't care who we get to coach as long as there is a change. he gets paid to perform... then perform. if i dont do what i was hired to do i get fired. we can get someone good. get rid of him before recruting takes too big a hit.

They don't play UF every year and Bama hasn't been anything since Tubby has been there. So basically he has played LSU.
