Kiffin's Possible Staff?

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall and listened to their conversations about the TN job. Wonder how the conversations went?

Bill Callahan - OC
Monte Kiffin - DC
Coach O - DL and recruiting cordinator
Doug Marrone- OL

I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed if they think Kiffin can bring in that many big names on his staff. Someone at ESPN said Monte Kiffin makes a million dollars a year.

Hopefully, he fires all these coaches and brings in a new staff who know how to win big games.

You don't "let" Al Wilson do anything.

Al Wilson does whatever he wants, when he wants, as often as he wants, and as brutally as he wants.

Al Wilson only agrees to "let" everyone watch him do it.

And applaud.

The rumor is it won't be about the money for Monte. He's made plenty in his career, and has enough time in the NFL for full benefits.

It's supposed to be about the opportunity to coach with his son. Let's hope so.

In 2005, Monty Kiffin made 1.6 million. Doesn't seem realistic for him to end up on the staff:

Bucs: Team asked Kiffin to take pay cut

TAMPA - The Bucs' first attempt to extend Monte Kiffin 's contract last summer didn't go over too well with the coaching staff. Why?
Because the team wanted Kiffin to take a pay cut.
The Bucs' 65-year-old defensive coordinator is among the highest-paid assistants in the NFL at approximately $1.6-million per year.
But that contract was negotiated by vice president Joel Glazer in the afterglow of a Super Bowl title while Kiffin was being courted for the 49ers' head-coaching job.
With the contracts of more than a half-dozen assistants set to expire at the end of this season, reducing Kiffin's salary would have made it easier for general manager Bruce Allen to retain much of the staff.
Kiffin held his ground and eventually agreed to a two-year extension for reportedly the same salary.

Will he bring a oc or will he call the plays? Will he keep Drayton to help with recruiting

what are the odds right now of LK bringing his father in. If Monte is getting 2 mil a year from them what is his incentive to leave that behind for a college job that won't pay near that much. I'm skeptical. I'd love for it to happen...but i'm not as sure as a lot of people that it will

Keep stan drayton? Are you serious? He can't coach worth a lick. UT's RBs have been terrible. Drayton must go!

Keeping Drayton was a question not a statement. He did do good at recruiting. That is why you need to try and read instead of react.

I wonder if anyone realizes how stupid it sounds to question whether Kiffin is ready for what he'll face in the SEC. He worked for Al Davis, in the NFL, and in one of the most visible and scrutinized positions available in the league. Facing the Knoxville media and the "giants" such as Urban Meyer, Saban and Richt will seem like child's play.

Kiffen..2.6mil
Monte...1mil
Young dynamic OC who can learn from Kiffen...500k
Coach O D-line/recruiting...500k
rest of the staff...1.4mil

Total...6mil for quite possibly one of the top 5 coaching staffs in the nation. Seems worth it for me.

By the way just pulling numbers out my arse.

Monte will Def. be getting more than 1 mil. And Orgeron will be making at least 1 mil. Both of them are not going to take NFL Pay-Cuts to be assistants at UT. We are going to be dishing out big bucks, but its what you have to do to win these days. Reaves will also be making Buku bucks.
