Ok, lets forget I mentioned Fulmer with the 5-1 statement. How about Spurrier. How about Meyer, How about etc. Tell me why we shouldn't be 5-1 at this moment. Then I will tell you. Of course it is promises made on the recruiting trail. We have played too many Freshmen where there were better players that could play with more experience. That little bit of experience could have made the difference against UCLA and Auburn. Take Poole for instance, better than Brown, well yes.
Thank you for this statement, I needed a laugh at work at 7AM on a Saturday, you're a funny person, now please understand how completely wrong you are.
What Lane has done for this program stretches a lot farther than the results on the field. NO off the field discipline issues, cancers are being extinguished (BW) and he has control of his team, something CPF did not have for at least his last 4 seasons, no doubt much farther back than that.
On the field, it is blatantly obvious that we do not have the talent of the other major programs, and we can leave this solely on Phils head. We're working with the best that we have, and the best that they have is playing great. How could anyone be disappointed with 3-3 with a win over UGA after we lost to Wyoming last year.....Wyoming. I'll let that sink in.
Yes some of us, including me were looking through some thick orange glasses to start the year, think we had a 9-4, some even a 10-3 team. Now the reality is sinking in and we know that 7-6, 8-5 is going to be a good year. Yes our expectations are now lower, but what would they have been with CPF? What recruits would we have gotten? Bryce Brown, Janzen Jackson? I think not.
That's what we're paying him $2M a year for (again, its LOW for a coach at this level).
