Hey Volnation! Believe me I am not a Fulmerite but I do not feel that CLK deserved a new contract after going 3-3. To me it just seems a little premature. I'm not saying that I don't like Kiffin and the excitement that he has brought not to mention the recruits but I think that this should wait until he can prove that he can do something other that recruit. We can bring in the best class every year but that does not mean that we are going to win. All I'm saying is hold off on the new contract and make sure we are not wasting people hard earned money that they agreed to donate to the university. Right?

I don't think it was a new contract. Pretty sure they just finalized the original contract.....

I think the contract was never finalized, and he has been coaching this season waiting on the final contract. That's just what I understood from all this. He never signed anything I don't think.

I thought he signed a 6 year agreement when the original was 2 call it what you want but it sounds like a new contract to me...

ESPN 2 days ago

Lane Kiffin officially signs contract with Tennessee Volunteers

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin, who had been working under a memo of understanding, has signed a six-year, $14.25 million contract.

Maybe you should do a little research before you open yourself up to ridicule starting an off target thread.

no school hires someone under a 2 year contract. Especially one with a rebuilding job like TN.

Disgusting, I thought the original "agreement" was excessive...

What?

"There were no significant changes in the contract "

What exactly changed? News sentinel didn't notice anything. Think they would notice 2 years to 6 years. You don't really sound like a Tennessee fan with the way you're talking right now. Far behind and upset about the fact he is making an average salary. It's the coaching staff that's expensive. Kiffin isn't being overpaid.

You don't sound like a Fulmerite. You sound like a Tide Roller.

Or an overzealous fan looking in from Michigan. Guess that's ok. Calm down a little friend.
