Kiffin's interview on Sports Page

I hope Kiffin goes into graphic detail about the languid, self satisfied environment Fulmer and the Skoal Patrol created at UT the last five or six years. If it embarrasses those clowns, all the better.

Because nothing says "we're changing" quite like constantly talking about how the last guy did it.

I hope he exposes it as well...

For one it would be one more slap in the face to the Fulmerite followers who have always put their beloved leader above the interests of the University.

The fact that the offensive linemen won't have the physiques of 50 year old truck drivers anymore will be speak volumes about the change. One of the best ways to ensure change is to tear down and devalue everything that came before you. I endorse Kiffin taking that course.

Honestly, what are your thoughts on the Kiffin regime after this short time?
I'm comfortable with most everything they have done. Given my druthers, I would have had them continue the blackout of the local media until the press conference after the Western Kentucky game. Also, I wish Kiffin had cleared firing every secretary, janitor, intern, et al associated with Fulmer on December 1st. Outside of those missteps, I'm happy.

Actually the best way to ensure change is to be more successful than the guy that came before you. I like the changes I've heard about so far - some much needed chararcter cleansing. I don't like all the clowning he's doing for the media.

But it all boils down to how many ticks are in the win column.

What irks me is our fanbase freaking out over 3 secondary violations. When I know for a fact the PAC-10 as a conference had 186 self reported secondary violations last year.
Oregon and USC both had 11 each.

The whole argument of doing things the "right-way" is asinine. Secondary violations are not even slaps on the wrists.

I say rack them up until you're told by the NCAA enough...

Yet this same crowd that is up in arms applauded a man for dealing under the table like a coward while turning a program in the same fashion a 3rd grader would turn in a classmate....

And lastly, the more he makes Mike Hamilton squirm...the better.

Got to admit, Coach Kiffin is making me nervous...He needs to get his talks typed up for him from now on so he doesn't get us on probation...God almighty

Post this as it's own thread.....UT Reports 6 more Violations!

Then when it is opened, tell them it was Fulmer between June and D-Day

As a fan that thought that this program needed a change since 2005 and very happy that we finally got that change this year, I did have some reservations when we hired Kiffin due to his age and inexperience. But I fast became a fan of Kiffin when he started exposing a "plan.' At first he was very methodical and deliberate in selecting coaches and aggressively pursuing the top talent in the country. I am highly impressed with the coaching selections and think that we finally have a staff that will DEVELOP talent and not waste it as we have for the last 10 years.

But now I am very concerned about the repetitive violations of rules and just how insignificant the rule book seems to this coaching staff. And in my opinion the problem has become the credibility and maturity of our new head coach. This will hurt us on the recruiting trail next year and the program under his direction over the next couple of years. The parents of players will hear from opposing recruiters that Kiffin is less than truthful and cheats. And right now the guy does not have a leg to stand on. With this reckless management style it would not be out of the realm of possibility that our program is on probation by next recruiting season.

He will have to do something to restore his credibility and face to people that are not familiar to this program

Let them doubt.... rule him out as a boy who can't keep his mouth shut. Let it be known Vol faithful. This man is driven. Keep the media's sling and arrows of petty spite on him and not on the team he will reshape. The Orange beast he will create will make these events a distant and jovial memory. I find it odd that people are so nervous about espn reports of minor violations. I've heard they "hate us" more than once on this board...so why does anyone care what they think anyway?

Stand resolute so that the lost can see us. Our victory is on the horizon.

GO VOLS!
