Kiffin's Got A Lot To Prove

Or maybe some of us just think we should be able to keep it closer than 23 points.

Look, "if" Moore catches the pass, its 7 points. 3 points given up right before half time and 4 points on the face mask on VT's 2nd touchdown.

This makes it a 9 point game. Doesn't mean crap to me, as I was able to see despite what the score was, UT was dominated at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Especially in the 2nd half, when VT could line up and say we are running here, and UT could not stop it. Its really simple.

We started 2-2 and ended 2-2. I just wish we would have improved toward the end.

Yeah they were dominated on the lines. I guess since that was the case we may as well just lost 50-0 then.

I know earlier in the season many were just glad we kept within 10 of FL. And then had a chance to beat Bama but only lost by two. But I guess according to you it would've been just as well to have lost to them by 25-30 points. Hey, if you're gonna lose let's just do it up real good.

So, magically, you are now the AD, bestow your wisdom upon us and tell us what you would do to ensure this never happened again. I fully expect under your leadership, we'll never lose another game and win an unprecedented 10 straight MNC's.

I thought he was on the right right track, but now I really don't know.

He and his staff had over a month to prepare and they shot themselves in the foot and rolled over at every turn.

One of the most sickening performances I've seen them put on in quite sometime. Just thank God this fricking decade is about over.
Vandy could use some fans...

See ya!

Oh, and there is another year left in the decade.

Winning every game and 10 straight MNC's is obviously what I was referring to. :eek:k:

I thought we played uninspired, unprepared, and undisciplined football. And we played a better team, that beat us for 50 mins, of a 60 min. game.

It falls on both the team, and the staff. We'll get better, just disappointing to finish a season with a bad overall performance, from most everyone.

This, at least in my mind, is 100% true.

It's the job of the staff to get a team of 18-22 year olds mentally prepared to play a game especially after a month-long absence. Our staff obviously failed in this game.

Ah, the Kiffin koolaid is so sweet! Drink more boys. Everything is so much better than it used to be. Drink, drink, drink!

:birgits_giggle: Only 60 year olds who recently found out how to post on an internet message board and have lost touch with the world use koolaid references anymore.

Seriously. Just thought I'd let you know.

We were out rushed 229 Yards to 5 yards. The better coaching staff was simply better prepared for this game.

Yep. Clearly that's what that indicates. The 200 yard rushing difference was because our coaches don't know how to run the ball or stop the run. That makes a ton of sense.

You are as far out about the the program and coach as you are from Knoxville. Va Tech is a top 15 program this year. We have an offensive line and defensive line that are both patched together. I am amazed that this staff did as well as they did with less talent. (Thanks Phil :horse:) Kiffin has proven he can do a lot with less talent. If some of you people would actually pay attention to what he is doing in changing the looser mentality of this program you might not post such stupid stuff on this board. I am going to laugh myself silly when you guys eat crow in 2 or three years.

I have just been watching Auburn and they look well prepared for their bowl game and they also have a first year coach with not near as much hoopla as CLK. It is obvious that CLK needs to learn how to prepare his team for bowls. The Vols were uninspired and unprepared and did not represent the SEC very well. We are supposed to have a staff that are very good at motivation and preparation but Monte and CEO looked totally bewildered on the sidelines. I have been supporting the Vols ever since 1956 in the seats for home games so I am not a fair weather fan but am very dissapointed in our coaching staff. I expected more from them.

Auburn looks mediocre. Northwestern lost to a team starting a basketball player at quarterback.

I love how people say Kiffin failed because the staff had a month to prepare. So did VT. I would never trade coaching staffs, but it isn't like there guys suck. Also, if bowl games all came down to coaching because of the extra time, Miles wouldn't be unbeaten in bowls at LSU.

Thanks for your informed analysis. I'll add it to the rest of the simpleton-generated garbage heap that's pervaded this site recently.

Auburn is also playing Northwestern. Your always going to look like crap if you can't run the ball or stop the run. This wasn't a case of poor coaching. It was a case of Vtech being flat out better than we are.

I just wish these average joes could understand that UT was physically dominated at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. VT due to better recruiting the last few years was a lot better than UT. It doesn't matter what scheme is used, if one team can line up, and just hand the ball off and run for 8 to 10 yards over and over again, you are going to lose. Also, if your offensive line can not keep the defenders off your QB, you will get beat. Its really simple.

Should we blame that poor attempt at tackling on Auburn's coaching staff? By the way, what is Northwestern's ranking?
