Kiffin's bravado....writing checks again...

Don't blame Berry, this was all about Wes Rucker getting publicity on his Twitter page.

Maybe Kiffin asked Berry to speak for him....like his P.R. rep....hmmmmmm

(Another interesting blog quote this morning: "Now this is coming from a big time Kiffin basher. I can't stand the guy. I really hope he doesn't succeed. But the truth is that if Kiffin had Mark Richt's players, he'd be 5-1 right now instead of 3-3, and that game against Florida would have been a nailbiter that went down to the wire. Meanwhile, if Richt had Tennessee's players, he would have barely beaten Western Kentucky and Ohio.")

Seems to be his style. I really don't care as long as he backs it up. You won't get much respect from your peers that way, but i get the feeling Kiffin's not here to chum up with the other coaches.

Does anyone remember Georgia's win in Knoxville in 2001 in which they celebrated by stomping on the Power T at midfield after the win? Lost all respect for Richt after that. Then they did the celebration against Florida a few years ago after scoring in which the entire team went out to celebrate.

I hope Kiffin takes this team to Athens and stomp on their "G" after a win next year. I just hope that he doesn't announce his intentions in the offseason.

Why on earth would we stoop to GA's level? I say we just beat them and get on the bus. Stomping on logos are for teams who have never won anything, cause they don't know how to win with class.

keep in mind...
this article is misleading..
he said this BEFORE the game to motivate the team.
its just people trying to blow things out of proportion against him again...
then again..who cares...hope it comes true

i heard EB make his comments, and i heard him refer to CMK not CLK.

i may have heard incorrectly, but i think that this article is a misquote perhaps trying to fuel the CLK fire some more (like saying that he "guaranteed" a victory over UF, while those who heard the pressor knew that was not what he said).

I'm failing to see the problem with this? Or why it even is note worthy on ESPN? I'm surprised no one has mentioned anything about this line
"I told the guys last night that I don’t know all the Tennessee history and tradition, nor do I intend to," Kiffin said. "I know there are a lot of great teams in this conference. But I told them, to me, this is the biggest matchup, Georgia. Because of what we do recruiting, for this staff, this is the biggest matchup."

I'm freaking sick of the coverage UT gets from the Chattanooga Times Free Press writers (Rucker is the TFP writer that covers the Vols).

A few of them owe Crompton an apology for the things they've written about him. I don't care how bad he has been before the UGA game, he didn't deserve the treatment they've given him.

The only thing's they (writers) care about are papers sold or website hit's. Why would they offer up an apology? They love drama, and they write it up any chance they get. Bottom line, they don't care plain and simple, To them it sells newspapers.

I can't think of anything classier than stomping on a G.

That line "nor do i intend to" troubles me as well.

I don't see anything wrong with CLK saying stuff like that to his players. EB probably shouldn't have repeated it, but it's not that big of a deal. There is nothing wrong with what Kiffin said about the importance of the matchup, in terms of recruiting.

I think Kiffin may have simply meant he intends to create his own history with the vols and the past is the past.
Of course who knows we shouldnt really be trying to analyze each and every word the man says anyhow. Thats what ESPN is for. :)

about the Georgia comment I hope it comes true. I think Saban said something similar about Auburn never beating bama again as well.

I don't see anything wrong with it either. All coaches say stuff like this pregame so no big deal. Kiffin is right, this is a HUGE matchup for us--especially in terms of recruiting.
