Gainesville is a strange football town. There are some locals who know about football and are more humble because they lived with losing and being FSU/Miami's b*tch. I'd be willing to bet that most of the ignorant comments came from bratty, spoiled UF students who don't work and don't know much football. Most of them grew up in S. FL and try to have the arrogant, wanna-be NY mentality. I can't tell you how many times I've had some sorority girl or frat boy try to talk smack to me about football only to reveal how little they know. Most of my coworkers don't know anybody's name except for Tebow or Harvin but for some reason Gator fans feel that their program being successful automatically makes them experts on football. The level of arrogance of the casual Gator fan is truly amazing.

I'm really considering printing like 400 copies of this, taking the 45 minute trip to Gainesville, and pasting the town with them. I love it, and I honestly believe that's probably what CLK was actually thinking when he issued the real apology

Now take it all down to University, and paste it on the windows of every bar on their strip. That would save me the hour drive.

I can't stand that town.

I stayed in Gaynesville over new years 07-08 en route to the outback bowl, and I almost got in a fight in Wal-Mart just because I had a Tennessee hat on.

I went to the UT-UF basketball game last year, and heard so much crap after we walked all over them in their house that I was forced to put "Rocky Top" on loop, turn the volume to max, and drive through campus 5 or 6 times, just to end up at Dirty Nelly's decked out in Vols gear with everyone looking at me with an evil stare. Even my friends didn't want to talk to me after that.

This year for the UF-UT football game I had a stuffed animal Gator, I put a little Tennessee Jersey on it, tied a noose around it's neck and dragged it behind my car around J'ville. I went to watch the game with a girl from my calc class that is an avid gators fan, and she wouldn't even talk to me because of that, it was classic.

I HATE THE gators

Easily, one of the most creative, well thought out pieces I've ever seen. To say it's funny is such an understatement, I won't do it. Puts you in the company of Dave Barry and Lewis Grizzard in my opinion.

about Slimebum? We need a scathing rebuke of that worm and with your talent, I know you could write a classic that we could plaster everwhere. This could be something we would want to send to newspapers, put on forums and frame and give to LK to put in his office and in the locker room. I would be willing to pay you.....I can't wait to see it!!

I think it's funny how Gator fans look at you like you have the plague when you wear UT gear. Everybody here hated me when Spurrier left and UT was beating them more often. Some of the most fun I've had here has been dressing up like a Gator fan for Halloween. IMO, the Gator fans in places like JAX or Tampa are even more obnoxious.

I may try to write something about him within the next couple of days. I don't want to be "that guy" who posts links to everything he writes, but I just don't want him to get away with spewing such stupidity.

I'm all for the process of criticizing, but when you are ridiculous for the sake of headlines I think there needs to be some kind of accountability....

and according to a previous post, they are still trashing TN today on his show....he is obsessed and conveniently forgets all the bad PR the bammers have had to endure. We need to make him understand there is no affection for him at TN although suddenly he is interested in tying himself to our university as a graduate just because he took a correspondence course from here. His arrogance at thinking anyone here at TN cares what he thinks about our coach is mindboggling....he surely can't be that stupid....it must be a boring day again in bammerland. Many people in TN don't even know who he is so maybe that's part of his problem.
