Kiffin would like Brown at USC?

If contact has been made by USC like Wolfe said, then we shouldn't release him to them.
UT shouldn't release him to them under any circumstances. If they do, I'd say fire Hamilton and Dooley.

I wouldn't be surprised if kiffy wants him, he did recruit him. so head on out to cali or kansas or wherever you want to go bryce, and work out your personal issues. I on the other hand am only concerned with the players who want to wear the orange on saturdays.

I don't understand this attitude. "If the coaches and directors don't do what I want to see done, fire them!" I don't want to see BB leave any more than anyone else; I definitely don't want him to follow X to USC. We cannot hold students to their word anymore given the current climate surrounding collegiate athletics.

Flights leave McGhee-Tyson every 15 or so minutes. If he doesn't want to be on the threshold of something great here, let him go where he pleases. It's his choice to make and his life to play roulette with, not ours.

I never understand why you guys get so ticked off when a coach lets a guy transfer some where. I know you have to put your foot down at some point, but not letting him transfer does nothing at all for Tennessee. You guys are probably the same dudes who stalk your old girlfriends and ex-wives after they leave ya. If Tennessee is the place we all claim it to be then get over the kids who don't want to be here, and make room for the ones who do. I hope Dooley does let him transfer if he wants out!

I don't know the % chances he goes to USC... but I'd say the chance that contact has been made and was initiated by someone associated with CLK is close to 100%.

One of my best friends is black .

one of nearly 1,000, but one none the less

I wasn't personally offended, and I assumed you meant none. No worries.

I hope you are joking. that is so stupid. a boy is a young man. it's got nothing to do with race. when is everybody going to get off of this bull?

Just because you don't want to recognize the issue doesn't make it stupid. Sometimes it's just easier not to say stuff that might cause offense. Like "niggardly." I know the definition, but I avoid the word nonetheless because I know people will misunderstand. Anyway, try not to get so worked up. It's not that big of a deal.

As for Brown to USC, I don't care either way as long as this doesn't drag out and create an unnecessary distraction.

If these recruits are ignorant enough to follow Lane Kiffin to USC, let them go! I am so sick of hearing people talk about if this player goes or that player transfers. Tennessee does not need to take a back seat to USC or any other University, for that matter. We may be in a little slump right now, but we are still Tennessee, and we still have one hell of a Football Tradition, and we still have some of the best facilities in the country. Tennessee has plenty to sell! If Bryce Brown and Aaron Douglas do not want to be a part of Tennessee. Let them go! We need players, like Chuck Smith, who bleed Orange and that want to be here. Bryce Brown had it made. He was pretty much penciled in as the starting Tailback for next year. And not at a pushover school either, might I add. At the University of Tennessee! If he wants out that bad and is willing to sit out an entire year, then let the kid go. Tennessee Football is bigger than a few recruits. Tauren Poole, David Oku, Toney Williams, and Rajaan Neal all want to be here. That is all I need to know! Go Freakin Big Orange!

Amen to that! Tennessee will be as strong with or without BB and if he goes he goes. It will not keep me from going to the games or cheering on the Vols. I wish him luck wherever he ends up.

You don't allow him to transfer to USC for the sole fact that it will make life a little bit harder on Kiffin. Bryce can get a free ride at tons of places, so it's not like he doesn't have options. If he wants to go to USC, he's gonna have to pay a year. Simple as that.

I haven't seen this posted, but I just read on ESPN that this is the word. It is an insider article however. Can anyone with an account summarize?

Thanks

Kiffin would be a fool to risk this. His program is already in hot water and they don't need accusations of tampering with another team's player.

With all of the USC "connections" tuition will be no problem for 1 year for Brown. The university will probably come up with some type of "fellowship" or "work study" program to take care of it.

Dunno if that's the best thing to do in April 2010. If true, I say let him transfer, continue "gathering" information about illegal contact and present it to the 'AA sometime in the late fall.

Screw Kiffen and USC...As said before if he chooses to go there then so be it...We need Orange blooded kids here that will give their all for TENNESSEE reguardless of who is the coach...GO BIG ORANGE!

If UT didn't release him to USC, wouldn't he have to sit out 2 years?

The two year sit out comes from leaving a school before completing a year. This is part of the LOI.

So, as long as he stays till the end of the semester, no he would not have to sit out two years. He would have to sit out one due to the standard transfer rule.
