Kiffin would have beat Georgia!

I was waiting to post this until after everybody calmed down after Saturday. I am slowly losing faith in the coaching staff. Last year Georgia did not cross the Tennessee 30-yard against us and this year we turn that mediocre Offensive coaching staff at Georgia into the best in the country with a freshman QB.

Put your anger towards Kiffin aside, last year's staff does not lose that game! Dooley seems over his head and I'm afraid we are in trouble people. I hope I'm wrong but seriously we have no reason to lose to Georgia like that who I think has one of the worst coaching staffs in the SEC (See 45-19 last year).

Too many or too few men on the field for 3 straight games (I bet that has never happened before)? UAB got drilled 42-7 by a mediocre UCF team and they took us to OT! Worst Neyland stadium loss! We are going to be 2-6 heading into October. Thought I would never see the day!

Another FAILED thread.

Tennessee has the highest recruiting budget in all of college football.

If Dooley fails to recruit elite caliber players, then he's got nobody to blame but himself.

Dooley can recruit the most elite players in the COUNTRY all that he wants. However, most of the highest recruits are in what states? Lets see, Florida, Texas, California, and Georgia. How many kids are we going to get out of Texas and Caly, not many. That leaves Florida and Georgia that Tennessee can have better success in recruiting the country's elite talent. Look back over the last decade and see what these teams have done. Kids are going to lean towards programs that are on the rise. People need to realize that Tennessee is not going to steal these in state players like they did in the 90's. You can have all the money in the world to go visits these kids, but Dooley is new and unproven. These kids arent going to commit to Dooley based on what he has done in the past. GIVE DOOLEY TIME!!!!

I agree that we probably lose regardless of the coach... but I don't think we get run off the field.

You try to put your best on the field and -- take Kiffin - with the 4 turnovers and this talent -- no Eric Berry to cover AJ Green - no defensive linemen - freshmen offensive lineman - etc. etc. etc. and you get spanked -- period. Kiffin had he stayed would have done a good job but he would have struggled just as much as Dooley. His recruiting would have been better A. because they were great recruiters and B. They had created a tremendous amount of Buzz and they had done a great job in making everyone aware of them -- be it bad or good pr--they were constantly in the news.

Right now we have 2 wins left, Vandy and Memphis....OM is a toss up cause our defense just made MIKE BOBO into Sean Payton!!!! Seriously people I know our roster isnt great but to lose to that coaching staff in GA like that? If that is not alarming boy you have your head in the sand...

Mike Bobo didn't show us up that was Mark Richt calling plays. Bobo may be out of a job after this season considering what he's done compared to what Richt got out of them Saturday.

That's where we disagree. I think we still probably would've lost under Kiffin due to talent/depth. But, the reason we lost as bad as we did was due to coaching, and, right now, I'm convinced Kiffin's staff was better than Dooley's. Hence, we lose, but we don't get run off the field.

Kiffin can't even beat Washington with USC's talent. Troll thread has failed.

I also agree this is a troll thread. Do not hate Kiffin just hard to believe he could have done better.

Of course he was responsible for getting us to the probation level of scholarship players we have now.

Yeah. Just look at the great job he's done at Oakland and USC. He's a regular Vince Lombardi.

I wouldn't count Vandy as a win so fast. Kentucky maybe.

Did you watch the Ole Miss game last year? This Georgia team is more talented than that team.

There have been a lot of epic fails on this board, but this one is an instant classic. Surely among the top tier of epic fails in VN's hallowed history, and an example of "moronitis" at work.

So kiffin would have won Saturday?? Have you noticed what kiffin has done the past two Saturdays with far, far more talent that he left us with here??

You need to get a grip.

I'm not defending Kiffin one way or the other. It's just that people like to enjoy pointing out how much USC sucks when, in actuality, their offense seems much improved from a year ago.

Their defense is another story.

I personally think that Kiffin is a very good offensive coach and a top shelf playcaller... but they aren't playing up to their talent potential on either side of the ball. If the Rivals/Scout ratings mean anything at all (and I believe they generally do but fail on specific players at times) then USC should not just be beating the rest of the Pac10... their games shouldn't be close.

We had Joe Cox as QB last year and a very banged up O-line. Not to mention that 3 of our best offensive players defected to the NFL. This year we have a new D-Coordinator who has installed a new scheme and it has taken a few games for the kids to adapt. Our D played better and put our O in position to make plays. That's how you win in the SEC.

I cannot fathom how unrealistic some Vol fans are about Dooley. You better get behind a coach and stay behind him or you're never going to attract another good one.

You got outcoached in that game... but the roster gap was nowhere close to what it was this year. Once UT had two TO's on ST's... the game was over. Without those TO's, we would have seen a much more competitive game.

They have a lot of talent. Their numbers are down, but the talent is there. However, I agree that they're not the most talented team in the nation.

According to Rivals (who some use to bash Dooley), USC is the most talented team in the country and it isn't close.

If you want to compare and make a judgment on how Kiffin would have done with this particular team... just look at what happened when UT's roster took hits last year. Ole Miss and VT thrashed UT. The talent differential between UT '10 and those two teams was much less than the talent differential this year between UT and UGA.

OMG...Negavols unite!! What good is this thread???? Comparing apples and oranges (or any other cliche' you care to use) is just stupid at this point. CDD is struggling right now to find ANY identity with this team for several reasons, the most blatant of those being lack of TALENT and DEPTH! His ability to coach THIS team is what some folks seem to be questioning...IMO his true ability to coach can only be determined when he is able to form a team constructed of HIS type of players with the abilities and talent that he deems necessary to win at the SEC level, and to have ENOUGH of them to actually compete deep into games when depth becomes a huge issue...Hell even Vandy looks good at times when they only have to play 1st stringers for short periods of time...Give this some time folks...Allow CDD to get settled before any asanine comparison games start...Kitten is gone and any thread that compares him in ANY way to ANYTHING Tennessee is just plain WRONG! It was good riddance then and should ALWAYS remain so! JMO!

Don't think the Bear could have beat GA with this squad. BUT, the boys are playing hard and giving it their all. I respect them for that.
