And I don't disagree with that. Hawaii and Minnesota should have never been in the ball game with SC. But just because a team's underperforming during a down year, doesn't mean that all of a sudden CLK or Monte Kiffin are bad coaches, as has been suggested here multiple times.

Let's not forget Virginia. Monte is great, do not care what he ever does at USC. Lane, although I think he has potential, has proven to be decent at best as a coach. Obviously, a great recruiter.

That's just insane. He underperformed here last year, and is underperforming at USC right now. Just look at all the articles saying how stupid his defense is playing, how many game winning drives they are giving up and how many stupid penalty yards they are giving up at critical portions of the game.

I'm sure he would tell everyone how great of a coaching job he did or it would have been 80 to nothing though and people would have believed him because "he's cool". :puke5:

Man that's good for a laugh though.

Not a chance! This team is too young. Kiffin can't even beat Washington at home with all the talent in the world. He is proving his worth now. If he can't win at Uscucks with top recruits now..... Nuff said! GBO!!!

the only thing i miss about last years staff is their recruiting (although it may have been against 'AA rules). monte and ogre got those recruits IMO tho

That staff in GA. You do know the least amount of games richt has won every season is 8 right? And 6 of his years he has won 10 or more. Talk about head in the sand. Ha that staff. That game was a freak game that wouldn't be reproduced if played again.

Kiffin also said this year would be a tough tough year.

We have recruited these numskulls in the past, and they either end up leaving, flunking out, or smoking themselves out of UT. We need players, period. We will finish strong and end up between 8-12 in most of the rankings. There are just too many good solid players we are in on.

I almost think you could put a bunch of three star players on a dart board and have better talent than we have in our junior class. I have complete and utter confidence Dooley cannot possibly be any worse at recruit assessment or player development than Fulmer was in his late years. Simply not possible.

It's not like the guys we have committed have sucked it up this season at their perspective schools Justin. Hell, one of our best commits is a 3* guy that leads the state of Georgia in tackles. All the guys that they have committed have played lights out their senior years, and I don't think there is one that hasn't. They have done well on evaluations, but the proof in their efforts will not be known till at least this classes RS sophomore or junior years. We have been rebuilding a roster that has been decimated by coaching changes, and some solid and stable players are what we need right now. The '12 class will be even better than this one, IMO. Mainly because they are able to evaluate much better. Hell, one of the top QBs in the class of '12 has been here like 2 or 3 times on his own dime. It's going to get better man, just got to be patient with the staff. BTW, I don't think anyone on this board understands how hard it is to recruit to UT. Our location isn't the best in the world when it comes to where the hotbeds of talent are.

I'm not really too concerned about recruiting to be honest.

I'm much more worried that Tennessee will not be able to get the correct amount of players on the field, again, against Bama.

I hope I'm wrong but seriously we have no reason to lose to Georgia like that who I think has one of the worst coaching staffs in the SEC (See 45-19 last year).

Too many or too few men on the field for 3 straight games (I bet that has never happened before)? UAB got drilled 42-7 by a mediocre UCF team and they took us to OT! Worst Neyland stadium loss! We are going to be 2-6 heading into October. Thought I would never see the day!

Listen to yourself, you are defening USC about the lack of scholarship players, and having the worst LB's in the conference, and yet YOUR Vols are even in worse shape in the LB's and DT and DB's. You said it was a non-roster issue but you refer to it. His seventy is better than are 70. Remember 50 percent of the team took their first road trip ever and at "Death Valley." How can you make excuses from kitty and trash your own team?

Go ask Kiffin how hard it was to do. Even he and O were surprised how hard it was, and they are supposedly ace recruiters. It's one of the biggest reasons Gran left, other than he despised Kiffin and Co. in the end.

This is garbage. We've recruited well here for years and years. If Dooley doesn't, it's on him. Period.

Uh, no it's not. You spend almost double or triple the time on the road as a Florida, Texas, USC, Ohio State, or LSU. Those schools typically top the rankings each year.
