Are we just trying to ignore the fact that Kiffin said he needed to watch the film before he commented on the quality of work? :p

All coaches have to watch the film.

All coaches do not use, "I'll have to watch the film", as an excuse or to dodge a question.

Yes, those words still make me bitter.

But I don't expect to hear it out of Kiffin after a loss when we execute poorly, play without passion or heart, and get out-coached, out-schemed and out-prepared. On a side note, it will be interesting to see how he handles things once the honeymoon is over. Hopefully the honeymoon will last for a long time...

Just because Fulmer used to say that does'nt make it a bad statement. It's just coach speak.

if CLK ever says "workin like heck" I know we are in trouble, that means he has been here way to long. I wonder after he watches the film will he need to "sprinkle fairy dust" to get things right.

No, if Kiffin starts talking about being one or two plays away or starts to talk about the ball not bouncing our way, then he needs to go ahead and call it quits.

This is a practice question... there is no possible way he can either know or see everything that is going on... That is were the film comes in to play

As long as Fulmer didnt leave his magic dust in the office, I think CLK is fine.

Fulmer said it so often, but nothing ever changed. He still went ultra conservative in second halfs, he still tried more not to lose than to win. I tend to believe that Kiffin will actually look at film, and make adjustments.

LK doesn't say work like heck.

He prefers "no one will work harder." Said it about his coaches and his players multiple times.

and the "no one will work harder" could backfire just like working like heck if he doesn't win :p

exactly...coach speak is coach speak. And anybody that wants to focus on coach speak as a reason to fire fulmer doesn't have a very high football IQ.

The problem with Fulmer saying "I'm gonna have to go back and watch film" pissed me off because you didn't need to watch film to diagnose the serious problems we were having last year. All he had to say was "yeah, our line isn't blocking and Crompton is throwing wormburners." That would have eased the blow a bit for me.
