So I'm watching that video up on the home page on espn and that Forde guy is talking about UT and how Florida and SC and Alabama would love to "Kill" us. And how CLK is "coach cocky". They then roll into talking about UCLA and how coach Neuheisel is spunky or some such cute epithet. He is hailed as a hero for "going after" USC and calling out Pete Carroll. This after a 3-9? 4-8 season?? Now I'm not one of those, the media is against UT type people but this just struck me as incredibly unbalanced and intellectually dishonest analysis. The guy didnt even know UT has other running backs besides BB. Anyone else see this?? Thoughts??

Didnt see it but thats no surprise to me. Its quite humorous actually. Its ESPN. What do we expect? How stupid can they get thats like a contradicition.

I noticed how they spun this last year pro UCLA and now this year negative Tennessee....the only ones who have had a constant opinion on this sort of thing are Wilbon and Kornheiser.

Well, you need to see the light. Because if you pay attention to ESPN everyone has taken their jabs at Tennessee (except the PTI guys, they like us). You just can't call out Urban Cryer.

And that just reminded me of that full page add UCLA took out in the LA times was it? Now what if CLK took out a full page ad in the Gainsville local paper talking about ending other people eras? (/whine session)

We all get it. ESPN hates UT. Time to move along...unless PTI is on.

I can't wait to see what GAYmeday is going to be like. How many more promos of Tebow circumcising little boys will they show? OR what about how "special" Tebow and Meyer's relationship is? Give me a break.

Ahh, the college football season. Hurry up and get here!

Nobody pays attention to ucla out here, there own fans hardly care anymore. Forde is known for calling people out, mists journalists are sleeze as the only way to get notoriety is to publiclicly citicize

of course it's unbalanced. this is from espn.

when the stanford coach Jim Harbaugh said that they would beat USC (or stuff about carroll, whatever it was) two years ago, they called it cute and a good move b/c of at worst the media attention it would draw (to a team that would be expected to win that game). Oddly enough they won that game and got a whole lot more attention.

I think ours is a similar thing. I really think that when kiffin started saying we'd beat Florida, he was doing it based off of what he saw Stanford do that year and how it's more of a win-less win scenario w/ a middle of the road team b/c of how much media attention you at least get from it. (not saying the outcome will be the same though)

Unfortunately, we have ESPN there this time to skew all this on us

If that's Pat Forde, don't expect any positive comments out of him. He's an unrepentant KY homer who's never had anything good to say about Tennessee in his entire career. He respects UT about as much as that other espn mouthpiece, Lee Corso, does. :corso:

Forde has always enjoyed taking pot shots at us and kicking us while we are down. He better enjoy it while he can. A big reason IMO these guys don't like CLK is that he does come off a little arrogant at times and he speaks his mind. Just like Steve Superior used to do. Only difference is he won a few games first while Kiffin is still unproven. Once Kiffin and Co start winning some games I think some of it will go away. The media loves a winner. JMO

Nah. The joke was ending the war in the Middle East, not raising taxes on the middle class, not trying to turn the USA into a Euro-style socialist state and governing from the center.

Or repeating things you heard someone say on the TV.

May I make a point how much it amuses me that everyone seems to believe their beliefs are the political center?

PROTIP: Democrats aren't generally a bunch of euro loving communists, and Republicans aren't generally a bunch of pasty old WASPs who are afraid of change...

Pat Forde / credentials = ZERO...Who really cares what this self important monkey thinks? Graduated from Mizzou in 87 worked for a newspaper in Louisville and suddenly he knows football with...yes another "ZERO" coaching or playing experience....His resume is not far from throwing newspapers on a route...Next!

The Vols are 0-1-1 against Neuheisel. We got nothing on him until we beat him.

In case you didn't see the game...we totally dominated and beat ourselves...just saying. Kind of like AF averaging 13 yds/carry and only being down 6 at half against Alabama and suddenly CPF wants to throw with a QB that has broken fingers, throwing 3 INTS and end up losing big.

I watched the whole game. We lost. Period. That is all that is important to me. How we got there is irrelevent to me. I am glad for you that you can take some satisfaction out of "beating ourselves".
