Kiffin tries to hire Golesh

Just saw this and thought it was noteworthy, if true. Most on here at least respect Kiffin as a great offensive mind. This is the second time he has tried to bring Heupel's OC to Ole Miss (Lebby went). I'm glad Golesh is staying.

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin tried to poach a Tennessee Vols assistant

How many professionals would trust the man enough to go work for him if a valid alternative is available. Does anyone think he inttends to live up to any contract? Integrity is not in his DNA. Would really like to know what mtivated Lebby to move laterally.

Golesh next job will be a head coaching position, not an assistant to someone like Kiffin. He might be tempted by an NFL assistant's position though.

Guys I hate Kiffin but his job isn’t to worry about the feelings of a rival sec team. He has to go out and get the best coordinators in his opinion he can. I hate the man but he has a history of identifying and hiring good assistants and coordinators.
Sounds to me like Heupel does and Kiffin is just trying to poach. He isn't identifying anything.

When you treat your coordinators with respect and allow them to do their jobs, they aren’t so quick to jump ship.

What's so unusual about trying to hire a good coordinator away from a rival? The exact same thing happened to him recently.

Think about it. Kiffin is universally considered one of the best offensive minds in college football. He had Lebby last year and now he wanted Golesh. This is pretty significant. It shows that Heupel and this staff are starting to turn heads already.

College Football is a constant arms race. And we have the cutting edge design for once.

The last decade has been a story of coaches jumping at the opportunity to leave and we have been left without any consistency. Golesh staying is a good sign and much needed consistency. Would rather coaches leave because we are successful as opposed to being miserable.

That was the guy Peanut fired after 1 year. Best thing that ever happened to him. Kinda like missing a plane that ended up crashing.
Didn’t get fired. Left for his current HC gig.

I'll never respect Kiffin for anything after THE WAY he left here. "The way" was calling (add in Orgeron, too) our early recruits telling them not to show up for their January classes, and using UT furnished phones to do it!

Ehhhh, not worried about that anymore. Not big deal......its in the past. Leave it there and move on.not going to carry negative energy around especially over football coach.

Lol if you're Kiffin, how do you even approach Golesh in that situation? How could he possibly think he could lure him away? Crazy amount of hubris.
I would say his last two OCs were more highly regarded than Golesh.

This is a good thing. One of the better offensive minds in the game came after our guy. If Dooley or Butch were in charge (well for one Golesh wouldn’t be here under either of those guys) he’d be heading to Oxford right now.
