Kiffin says Vols have an Eric Berry surprise on Saturday

Today while eating with extended family, there were a few UT coaches there. (One was named Mitch?) and I asked him about it. He said they haven't run any WildBerry in practice. but Berry will be returning kicks on Saturday. Take it for what it's worth, but I though I would share.

YES! He is a playmaker, so why not give him the ball? I think this could be something he could be doing in the NFL

No it doesn't have to do with him staying another year. It has to do with his play in the game saturday. I won't ruin it.

i remember at the front of the year i heard we had alot of packages including berry offense, special teams, etc

I'm hoping his Surprise is to be a Volunteer for one more year! I doubt this will happen. But I think if he comes back next year he will definatly be in Heisman Trophy talks especially if they start using him like Michigan did Woodson. Let him return kickoff's and play the Wild Berry! Regardless since I read this earlier today in the paper I feel like a little kid the night before Christmas I can hardly sleep just wandering what presents going to be under the tree when I wake up in the morning! Unfortunatly when he descides to go pro which I think he will do I'm going to feel like I got a lump of coal for Christmas!

Well just watched Bama wallow through another win. Auburn had them if they could have "balled" up with a little more defense. Anyone heard anymore on this thread with the news on something special with Eric Berry?????

How do you think he is going that high, his interceptions are way down, his tackles are way down, his overall performance is way down. Berry is the man but if i was going to dish out big bucks I'd go with someone besides Berry.....going by this years performance. If you were going to spend millions of dollars on a first round pick, would you take a chance on Berry based on this years performance? I wouldn't.

Are you being serious, or just trying to start crap? I really hope, for your football knowledge sake, you arent being serious. Berry leads all DB's in tackles in the SEC. Have you not noticed he is being used in the BOX about 95% of the time? If you knew football at all, you would have noticed this easily.....and also notice it is a result of two things....1) Berry is by FAR the most talented player on our D...not even close, and 2) Our LB corp sucks. Bad. Talented, absolutely.....but they (except for Rico) are extremely young and inexperienced.

Berry's performance this year has done nothing but HELP his draft stock. Look at the comments from any evaluator at NFL.com. If EB were playing center field this year like he was able to last year, he would EASILY have 5+ picks, the return yardage record and a bunch of big hits as usual. He has played the role this year that was best for the TEAM...which has basically been a 4th LB most of the year. There is ZERO chance ( barring something like an injury) that EB isnt gone by the 5th pick in the draft. The ONLY way this happens is if the 5 teams picking first are loaded in the defensive backfield, and right now, I honestly cant think of a NFL team that would pass on him unless that team needs a QB.

I know there is no way for it to happen, but I would love it if he someone ended up with the Falcons next year - I could go from cheering for him on Saturdays to cheering for him on Sundays.

Plus, Atlanta's secondary has been atrocious this year.

When people say they think he is announcing he will return for his senior year tomorrow, it makes me wonder if they know where the game is being played. Why would he announce something like this in an opponents stadium? That announcement wouldn't come until later.

im a redskins fan...so who ever berry goes to that will be my new favorite team besides the colts

Would rather see Eric go somewhere other than DC!
I changed from being a Redskins fan just over 12 years ago when Peyton was drafted by the Colts. Not looking back!:eek:k:

he is newly engaged is my guess. Kiffin is trying to get our football hopes up and its going to be something different

I'm pretty sure that Berry has 75 tackles so far this year, while last year he had a total of of around 70. Please do some research instead of posting off the top of your head.

I would LOVE to see Eric with the Colts but I will be happy if he just goes to one of my favorite NFL teams! Colts, Titans or Giants please!!!! :)

While I wish the surprise would be an announcement that Eric Berry was coming back for his senior year, I would say that the surprise is more along the lines of EB wearing the #1 jersey to tell UT fans they're number one.

The Wild Berry or returning kicks wouldn't be a real surprise, but these are more probable than a senior season announcement.

I see something more along those lines.

I would like to see Berry and Deion Grant cracking skulls together. With the way the Seahawks have been playing this year, it's a definite possibility.
