Kiffin says Vols have an Eric Berry surprise on Saturday

He is staying...his stock in the NFL draft has fallen alot this year....he needs another year to get to the # 1 status. alot more money riding on him not going this year....big bucks for being picked #1 in the draft.

You apparently don't know much about his draft status...Kiper has him at like number 2 or 3 overall and McShay has him at number one...out of every player in the nation...not sure how that's "falling"

I just want him to get a pick and the 8-9 yards he needs to break the record

How do you think he is going that high, his interceptions are way down, his tackles are way down, his overall performance is way down. Berry is the man but if i was going to dish out big bucks I'd go with someone besides Berry.....going by this years performance. If you were going to spend millions of dollars on a first round pick, would you take a chance on Berry based on this years performance? I wouldn't.

pretty much everyone who evaluates talent for the NFL disagrees with you

Good thing you're not a GM. Eric Berry is widely considered a top 5 pick. He's number one on McShay's board and two on Kiper's.

Wrong

Maybe we are giving Berry to Kentucky for a one game loan so JC can purposefully throw an INT to him to ensure he gets the record, then on every other play Berry stands still so we essentially play 11 vs 10. Win win (well for us ;) )

Just based on history (of both EB and UK football) that Berry would have a slim chance of getting an interception even if he was standing still

Being an NFL prospect is a lot more than just racking up stats. EB has as many picks as the #1 DB taken in the draft last year, and EB's role has primarily been run support.

This year EB's draft status has risen. He's proven he can play each of the various roles that a team may need a safety to perform and he's done it at an elite level. He has continued to lay the wood on players much bigger than himself. He has continued to be extremely durable and versatile. His tackles aren't down, he already has more than last year. Not to mention he is the leader of a great pass D.

He's a top 3 pick right now. Coming back for another year isn't going to make him #1 overall. Being #1 just depends on which team has the #1 pick and what their needs are.

I don't think it is him being in the wildcat package, returning kicks, playing WR, etc. They haven't done it for 11 games, don't see them doing it for the last one. If it works then all it does is start the inevitable second guessing. "We woulda beat Florida/Alabama/UCLA/Auburn/Ole Miss if we'd a done that against them. Kiffin sucks."

I'll be interested to see what this is.

i gotta say that wherever EB goes i will become a fan. Just like when Peyton went to the Colts i started liking them. Unless he goes to the Raiders, can't stand the Raiders.

Have you noticed he doesn't play REMOTELY the same role this year as last?

Al Davis wants nothing to do with the talent that Lane Kiffin puts in the NFL.

wells was asking the "visitor", from the kittens, that seems to think EB does not deserve to be drafted in the top five......that comment means that this guy has not seen any UT games this year.....that is my point
