Kiffin says Vols have an Eric Berry surprise on Saturday

Stop comparing Berry and Bradford's situations!! Berry is a safety who hits, yes of course he can get hurt. But Bradford is a qb who hadnt been hit in a year and all of sudden he doesnt have an all american oline he gets drilled. And it's only an issue because choklahoma played him eventhough he was obviously not ready against tex and now its worse. QBs are sitting ducks, Berry isnt a sitting duck

Oh yeah, that Manning guy came back for his senior year right? I dont think he got hurt right? Pretty sure he was no 1 pick next spring right?

I think Peyton hurt his knee (bursa sack). Or was that his Jr year?

I'm like you but I would rather see him go,we will see enough of him in the NFL making superstar plays.I would hate to see him go down with an injury.

I'm more selfish.....Let him come back for a final year and then hand the torch off to Janzen!

There is a pretty reliable source on TOS, that says its a done deal EB is coming back next year

Since we are all just speculating here:

What if recruits like Ahmad Dixon and Matt Elam and even Jeff Luc have told our coaches "It's too bad EB is leaving. I would love to have played along side of him!"

Would EB return next year to be a major force in recruiting these players? AND to be a big brother for JJ? (Lord knows he needs one!)

My guess: the big suprise is that Eric Berry will be playing Middle Linebacker (because we dont have any left!!!) lol :popcorn:

Why would Kiffin show his hand so soon?

Because there is a solid chance the Kentucky staff is doing the same speculation the Vol nation is doing. Except their speculating has consequences; i.e. game planning for Berry on offense, returning kicks, or playing Mike LB, or true safety etc.

CLK just loves these mind games. Now KY has to game plan what to do if EB lines up in a wildcat formation. More distractions. I love it.

I'd like to see him line up in a whole lot of different positions...maybe set a record for most positions played in a game????

Maybe we'll see him line up at corner, safety, linebacker, wide receiver, returner, qb...just to show how great he is.

I've heard that, too, but I don't think that's it. Why would that be a big surprise to the fans? Some people probably wouldn't even notice.

I think they're going to the ball in his hands in some way.

He is staying...his stock in the NFL draft has fallen alot this year....he needs another year to get to the # 1 status. alot more money riding on him not going this year....big bucks for being picked #1 in the draft.
