Kiffin Says He Could Have Won SEC With Vols

Relax about being down "4-6 years"...Alabama is on probation and where did that get them? It will not be anything major if anything at all...relax people, DD will have his chance to win, if not he and the man that hired him will be looking for jobs.......
Agreed. If we're mediocre years from now and Dooley is still here, then something he has failed miserably, and UT has failed for not pulling the trigger.

When the 'AA comes to town and starts asking how an upstart agency like a3 started signing UT stars left and right and notices Judy Jackson on their staff directory, you'll have gotten what you deserve.

They will be in Knoxville in April, according the Hamilton. I don't like the NCAA hanging around, but if they don't do something in conjunction with USC, what ever so called power they like to dangle around in front of people will be gone.

Can someone elaborate?

I would love to have a sit-down chat with Lance Thompson to see what he has to say "off the record" about Kiffin.

Dooley has more experience than Kiffin did when we hired him. If there was ever a bad hire, that was it. Kiffin is a completely unproven coach. He has never won anything without Pete Carrol. Dooley will be just fine. It will probably take a year or two before we are in contention, but that is not his fault. We will be much better off in the long run. Kiffin is a butt:pirate: If you like him so much, why don't you become a trojan?

And remind me exactly what DD has won on his own. At least Kiffin's struggles came against NFL competition, with the hapless Raiders. DD on the other hand, failed in the pathetic WAC where there is only one good team to compete with. At least with Kiffin, he was surrounded by a rediculous amount of talented assistants to guide him along the way. DD, not so much. Most people on here had never even heard of almost our entire staff until a couple of months ago.

I would take Kiffin and that staff back in a heartbeat...people if you don't get that kiffin was going to get it done then you just don't get it....I never knew of DD til the day before he was hired....that does not mean he won't win I'm just saying that kiffin was going to win S.E.C. Soon

You know, fine. I'm done with this debate and I'm done with the football forum til we hire an actual coach. Nothing clicks my vomit reflex quicker than blind faith. All Dooley needs to do is start "encouraging" church attendance among his players and we'll have the football equivalent of Buzz Peterson. I'll be back at the end of the '12 season, when the coaching search starts.

Wow. We can only hope this keeps hat away... but I have my doubts.

FWIW, your "blind faith" that the sky is falling is just as "blind" as those who are sure that Dooley will succeed. He isn't the worst hire until he is. He isn't a good hire until he proves that. To declare him a sure failure or success at this point requires "blind faith".

Concerning Kiffin, his complete lack of class and ethics is precisely why Dooley is now the HC at UT. Your hate is misplaced. Maybe if Kiffin had visited church a few times he might have developed more character than to hose people who had been as good to him as UT was.

FTR, most of what Kiffin said was true. They were bringing in talent. They were coaching the players up. They were getting the most out of the players.

The only thing that isn't true in my estimation is that he left the roster in better shape than he found it. He can't be entirely blamed but there's no way you can say that UT is better off after losing Hardesty, Dan Williams, Eric Berry, Dennis Rogan, McCoy, Crompton, and all but 2 of the OL's that saw any significant PT.

Again, not altogether his fault... but still not true.

I'm not rooting for him to fail. He's going to do that all on his own. No amount of support from me can make that hire anything but the dumpster fire it is.

No way you know Dooley is going to fail.

Appears you should change your name from
hatvol to Ihatevols.

If you were a true fan you would be
supportive and give him a chance.

It seems like we've heard that before.

In 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008...

I agree with every single word Kiffin says right here. Every word.

Where was the evidence of getting stronger as the year progressed? UT's November schedule is littered with lightweights. Beating Vandy and UK is not a sign of getting stronger. That sounds like Fulmer rhetoric.

We definitely started playing far better around the middle of the year, before injuries killed our defense.

No way we know that Dooley will succeed either. Time will tell.

We did play better, and you should improve over a loss to UCLA. That said, regardless of injuries, to make the statement you got stronger simply is not true. Ole Miss and VT crushed us.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that you were not a fan of Kiffin.
