Kiffin Reprimanded by SEC, as was Mullen (merged)

He must not have listened to Short-Stuff Saban about needing to get extra rest...

Yep, the team was "mentally and physically tired", insinuating that's why the game so close. Give me a break, bama fans with half a brain(meaning all of them), know they escaped losing to an unranked team on national tv. See ya next year.

Two things about officiating:

1) They often get it wrong.

2) There is nothing you can do about it.

You're kidding right?
C'mon LG what bad calls has the Gators had against them this year?
How many favorable calls has the Gators had this year that were later proved incorrect calls.

You coached a good game. The players played their hearts out. We had a chance to win, but came up a little short.

DON'T FREAKIN' RUIN A GOOD EFFORT BY ACTING LIKE A MORON.

There is no SEC conspiracy Lane. Because you don't know the history of UT football, I'll fill you in........we beat Bama 7 years in a row in the not-so-distant past. SEVEN YEARS. The SEC didn't "all of a sudden" become bias towards UT just because you're now here. We were also in ATL just 2 years ago, and had a chance to win the conference. SHUT YER FREAKIN' MOUTH and coach.

He is starting to look really ridiculous.........and the sad part is, he coached the best game of his career on Saturday. Shame, really.

Kiffen saying that he is sure he will get one of those letters t hat dont mean anything is probably what made it so bad with Slive. Those words were inappropriate. Criticizing the refs is one thing but saying the reprimand is meaningless is pretty cheap. Say something like that in private. That really was not a smart thing to say.

Mike Slive is a XXXXXXXXXXXXX! CLK good job! Mullen good job! Truth is truth! Since when is it unethical to speak the truth. Where is the ethics in the SEC Home Office? Where is the ethics of our SEC ref's? Mike Slive is picking on the wrong people. What do you say NCAA? Is it not time for them to come in and suspend Mike Slive and investigate the SEC ref's!

GO VOLS!

conspiracy or not the REFS in the SEC are borderline retarded. they suck if you are a UT fan then back up your coach dont talk bad about him when he has our program heading in the right direction who cares what he says as long as he is committed to winnning

Same thing I want to know. A sportsmanship issue, maybe, or a violation of some personal conduct policy, but complaining about the refs is an "ethical" violation? Really?

Exactly. It may be a violation of a "rule," but my "ethics" generally require me to speak against injustice. The SEC's use of the term "code of ethics" seems to be doublespeak.

Not so much! Vols5150 looks really ridiculous...AGAIN!

He is our coach for a reason, and that gives him the right to stand up for the University he represents. I am glad he has a pair of nuts to speak his mind. Somebody give this dude a Zanex.

I for one am glad our well-paid coach who promised to have his players backs does not read internet message boards like the rest of us unpaid fans. He asks his players to put it all out on the line for him every day, and he gives them the same in return. He's doing everything he can to help our team, yet you think his actions qualify as moronic...

3) It has suspiciously favored Florida for weeks.

Well, first, I just don't buy into the conspiracy theories about that. But, I do agree that Florida has been on the better end of that stick at least twice this year. Last, I don't think that any of the calls made a difference in the outcome of games.

1) I do agree that there should not have been a personal foul call versus the Arky player. On the other hand, it sure looks like that did not add much to Florida's position in that game. And, as has been pointed out by many, officials didn't make the Arky kicker miss.

2) The pass interference call on Arky was certainly close enough that its hard ot argue with it. The Arky player turned to the Florida player and pushed off of him, then turned back to the ball. Might another official have seen it differently and not called it? I suppose. But that is often the case on such calls and so you can't really fault him for that.

3) I did think in the MSU game that the ball came out of Doe's hand before he crossed the goal line. But, given MSU's inability to move the ball offensively all night, I just think we win by a smaller margin, is all.

You can debate until the cows come home whether this play might have led to an alternative universe. That is a problem inherent in the system. But unless it involves a call at the very end of the game, the last series or last play, then its hard to be convincing with such an argument of "what if" because you don't know -- i.e. it is equally likely that MSU gets the ball, is three and out and punts to James who runs it back for a TD.

Just dropped Hamilton an email asking him to make a public announcement backing our coach.

I don't think Slive would try and suspend Kiffin, the University would fight back and if there IS *cough* "questionable" officiating, it might come out in the fight.

Slive does not have the balls to suspend Kiffin.

u lose all credibility on any board if you can't figure out if you are a Georgia Tech fan or a Vol fan! Fair weather fan!

How am I a fair weather fan because I cheer for two teams with GREAT TRADITION!?

The only tradition Bama has is a tradition of cheating.
