Kiffin Reprimanded by SEC, as was Mullen (merged)

Very good.

Thank you. I wasn't about to fight the no-call for Cody ripping his helmet off and the team charging the field.

I do want answers on why UT was called for EIGHT TIMES as many penalties than Alabama, and why the referee pointed to the Alabama player where the ball was (and the Bama player IMMEDIATELY changed direction and went for the ball.)

I bet I will never hear from the guy, though.

So sense your team was ranked 3rd in the nation in penalties, does that mean that the SEC officials have been on your side in each of your games? See how this doesn't make any sense. We played more disciplined than ya'll in this game so whats the big deal. I agree cody should have gotten a penalty called on him for taking his helmet off but according to the rules it wouldn't have mattered anyway. I rewatched the game on tv to see what everyone was fussing about and there were missed calls on both teams.

You lose all credibility as an outsider on this board when you cannot even spell correctly.

This is all about trying to assert control by Slime over what is said because he's tired of people seeing the truth, that SEC officials are truly incompetent. I sat there watching game after game after game saying where's the block in the back, where's the illegal hands to the face, etc. but the officials just keep missing the calls. Slime needs to worry about fixing the problem rather than who is pointing out the truth. But, I saw this coming leagues are extensively punishing those who dare criticize the officials. They say it's to keep people from questioning the authority and integrity of the officials, but I say it's to shut people up so they can control the teams and in some cases the outcomes of games.

Bama linemen were holding the UT d-linemen the whole game and never got called. What a joke!

1- Following the public reprimand of CLK today, when can we expect to hear the public reprimand of C Dan Mullen and his remarks on SEC officiating following the MSU/UF game Saturday?

.

Dan Mullen has been reprimanded by the SEC for exactly the same rule infraction that Kiffin was subject to.

I know it sucks to share the martyrdom with others. Make room on the pedestal.

Just sent my email to Slive:

Mr. Slive,

As a long time fan of the SEC I would just like to voice my displeasure with the officiating this season. It seems to have become something of a national joke on all the major media sports outlets. ESPN all but laughed at how bad it has gotten.

To me, it doesn't matter who benefits from the calls and who doesn't. What does matter, is it takes away from the integrity of the game and tarnishes the win (and loss) for both teams involved in the game. When there is a perception of bias towards certain teams in the conference, whether real or not, the controlling view of many fans is one of either being slighted on the field, or having an otherwise legitimate win taken away from them. It is sad, and this should not be the primary story dominating headlines from the SEC.

My suggestion is rather than reprimand coaches who are only expressing what everybody else is already saying, start being more vocal about fixing the problem...or at the very least, explain what is going on. The single best course of action to keep coaches from publicly ridiculing officials is to recognize there is fact a problem with the officiating and to do something about it. Not to muzzle the coaches who are only trying to protect their team when they see what you have obviously failed to fix.

Thanks for your time and consideration,

Not that it matters, or will even get read. But it made me feel better.

Maybe Lane will say something about this officiating.

Are you kidding! Do you know anything about football? Your db hit julio when he stopped to jump up. Rewatch the play.

Pic 1 - Jones stops on the route and pushes off, flag
Pic 2 - Rogan is facing the pass and he has a right to establish his ground.
Pic 3- Jones attempts to push off again for seperation, no flag
Pic 4 - Players establish ground awaiting pass
Pic 5 - Ball over both players reach
Pic 6 - Jones whining for flag
Pic 7 - Jones still pleading case for a flag

Summary - Jones should have been flagged for offense pass interference.

It wasn't just UT and Miss St. The officials screwed up a review in the Vandy-South Carolina game too.

What school was it that tried to serve process to a coach at the SEC meetings a couple of years ago?

It's long past time to get the SEC Commissioner's office out of Birmingham. This is pure and simple bribery by the Bammers for favoritism. Atlanta is such an obvious choice.

1. Look at this youtube video, please. Can you tell me WHY the referee pointed to the football so the Alabama player could gain possession and end the game? It is 100% evident that as soon as the referee looked at the Alabama player and pointed at the ball, that the Alabama player quickly changed direction and ran and picked up the ball. I am not going to even dispute the entire Alabama team charging the field and Cody removing his helmet in tears. I will not. I'd love to hear your take on why an official would help a player gain a competitive advantage in that situation.

YouTube - Alabama vs Tennessee '09 blocked field goal

Is it possible he's marking where the ball landed? When a team fumbles doesn't the ref throw some sort of marker down to mark where it was fumbled at in case it goes out of bounds and they have to bring it bck to the spot?

I think Hamilton needs to make a statement defending Kiffin. Time to call the "spineless wonder" Slive out.
