I'm not real real big on the hire, it could work out, but I think it'll be more like the shula experiment at alabama.

Thanks for chiming in. But he doesn't have connections with the Bear or Neyland.

Sometimes coach's sons pan out, sometimes they don't. Gruden was the son of an NFL assistant.

Shula wasn't on everybody's prospective coaches lists. It seems Kiffin is/was on some wish lists. I don't see it as beeing anything like the Shula hire.

Well then, I will certainly put them in a BCS bowl game next year. Mark it down.

As with any new coach, time will tell. I like his bravado and his enthusiasm. Plus he's bringing his wife to Knoxville. WIN.

The only relevant parallel is their ages at the time of their hire and their youthful, well tanned appearances.

Apart from that, I see no relevant comparison point between the two.

I'm excited about our new coach..... Dave Christensen... offensive coordinator----Missouri...... Rivals #1 rated offensive mind. Wyo has a good D but our O has been terrible.

The hire reminds me of Shula at Bama....never gonna work. Does he have HC experience?

Shula also had a hot wife...

I said I think it could work, unlike shula I knew that would never work. The main similarity is how young they are. You have to wonder if you can get kids to take you seriously when you look as young as they do.

Well, you chose to live in WYOMING. So I think your credibility is suspect.

Actually, Wyoming RIPS. the Big Sky is gorgeous... six months out of the year.

I was in Cody at a grocery store. They sell 10lb boxes of corn flakes. Reminded me of the lodge kitchen in the Shining.

Are you still harping on this point? We all know Kiffin is going to expect big things from his team - he just doesn't see the point in attaching a time line to success. It makes sense.

As for the OP's remarks, I disagree with the comparison, but there's no way to know until we've actually seen LK coach a few games.

Difference is that Kiffin was known as a top notch national recruiter (before taking the Raiders job) and he is bringing his dad on staff. Mike Shula probably should have brought in big Don to help coach.
