the funny thing is, if this kiffin experiment flames out in a big way, there will likely be a large contingent of folks that will want Cut to be at the top of list of replacements.....:p

If Chavis had been a head coach somewhwere he could have demanded more. Considering he has the personality of a turnip, I'd say half a mill is pretty darn good.

Along those same lines, let us remember what Lane has suggested be done with the bonus money he would receive for winning any kind of coach of the year award.

I agree. I don't know if it will be Gruden, but I think it would be someone younger then Cuttcliffe. But we are not going to have to worry about this.

by that time Cut will have bombed at Duke and will be Phil's OC at Texas A&M.

I think Cutt will have enough success at Duke that he will finish his career there if he chooses too. For Duke football the bar is not set to high. He also had a descent class this year at Duke. The average attendance at games this year also the highest it has been in sometime.

The ACC won't be down forever..he better pad his schedule. Miami, NC, NC State, FSU, GT are all improving. Clemson and BC who knows, Wake and VT will always be well coached.

Hard for Saban, example of coach at $4M, to keep his coaches happy paying them current lower salaries and expect them to work as hard as he does. As they all leave the office at 2 a.m. Saban gets into his Caddi to drive to his 4,000 sq foot home. The others get into their Chevy Impalas to drive home to their 2,000 sq foot home. At some point this has to cause a rub on subordinates. Just sayin'.

Other SEC ADs will be furious with Kiffin and Hamilton for raising the bar on asst coaches salaries. Foley will giving Hamilton dirty looks at the SEC meetings.

I think he is completely without class (and somewhat of an embarrassment to date) but I love the staff he has put together. And, to show you what kind of chump I am, I'll be ok with the classless wonder if he wins.... I just ask that he keep his mouth shut for a few weeks.
I think that is as honest as I can be.
