I suspect it's more than just someone running a little late:

1. The link was taken down from the front page of UTsports.

2. Typically the video feed is up and you can see the room even if there is no one at the podium yet

Have no idea what's really going on though.

This is what I was saying earlier. The link on the utsports homepage that took you out to the cbs all sports access page was removed just after 9am. You could still see it on cbs all sports access page along with that stupid Dish Network ad, but not on the utsports homepage.

I'm thinking it's definitely for the Eric Berry for Heisman campaign.

Berry has this picture on his Twitter (Twitpic - Share photos on Twitter) and Tiffany Carpenter, UTAD's public relations person, wrote that he wasn't supposed to show it until today.

Yeah I wouldn't doubt it. Heisman trophy winners are a valuable recruiting tool! I can see where Kiffin would make this somewhat of a priority, if for no other reason than knowing it would boost recruiting in the long run.

Seriously, it is a little concerning. I can't remember the last time they had a press conference scheduled a few days in advance and it just didn't happen all of a sudden. Hopefully everything is okay.

University of Tennessee launched its Heisman Trophy campaign for junior safety Eric Berry this morning.

The announcement came at UT head coach Lane Kiffin's media breakfast.

He is the first player UT has promoted for the Heisman since quarterback Peyton Manning in 1997. Manning finished second to Michigan defensive back Charles Woodson for the award that year.

Kiffin made it clear that he does not expect Berry to return for his senior season. Kiffin talked about not only what a great player Berry is, but also what a great leader Berry has been particularly during the coaching change.

i saw something interesting on Eric Berry's tweet site, something from tiffany carpenter that basically he wasn't supposed to share the pic or the new web site until tomorrow (today), but glad that he was excited...
