Kiffin Petition

Tennessee is now an irrelevant thing of the past ,as far at college football is concerned . I am thankful I an old enough to remember it in it's hay day !!! You cannot run a college program when an outsider (booster) is calling all the shots.

People need to look at past circumstances for any coach that is considered and stop going by record alone.

Kiffin took over USC at the beginning of their probation in 2010 when they were only allowed to sign 15 scholarship players a year for 3 years. That's 30 players he didn't have at his disposal. He was only there 4 years. NO coach, Not even your ideal pick to be the new VOL coach could have won in that situation.

that's all well and good, except they still achieved top recruiting classes and still had the #1 preseason team in the nation in his 3rd year, and finished 7-6 for the worst underachieving team of all time.

Kiffin in not a great coach. His record at USC says that. He screwed over Tennessee to go to his "dream job" and then got unceremoniously fired after just three seasons. USC was his dream job, not Tennessee. You can assume he tried his absolute best at USC and still didn't last 4 seasons.

This was before he got experience with Saban under his belt.

You can't debt the results at FAU.

Beyond that, turning Crompton into a competent college quarterback was possibly the most insanely skilled coaching job I ever witnessed.

It was like teaching a bear to ride a unicycle.

All of this and we are getting reports that bielema is on campus?

Going to the liquor store right now.

You can't win without players. Tell me who is a better draw than LK. Don't see any players standing in line to sign up for our laundry list of coaches, only 5 stars bailing for other programs. Wait too long and there will be nothing to salvage.

With Fulmer leading the search, Kiffin is off the board. We will hire a current HS coach before Fulmer taps Kiffin.

Agree. I have little confidence that Phil will hire a winner. I'm fairly convinced he'll show up with some retread from somewhere. God, I hope he surprises me.

first off...SO WHAT?...Lane ain't the be all, end all, of college football...geez, those Arkansas ridge runners need some fun in their lives too...gotta share...:)

PS. just being neighborly...:hi:

GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kiffin is in the back of the room with his hand raised for days, the teacher just ain't gonna call on him!

Unfortunately, I don't believe Lane would come back at this point. No one in their right mind would come here without knowing who the Athletic Director is. Tennessee has screwed up royally by firing the Athletic Director before hiring a head football coach. No good coach with intelligence will accept a head coach position without knowing who the permanent Athletic Director is. Tennessee will need to hire an Athletic Director first before hiring a head coach. Firing Currie was inevitable, but the timing is very suspect.

USC 2012 (Lane's 3rd year). Preseason #1 in the country, and limped to a 7-6 finish, losing to GT in the bowl.
Hence, biggest underachieving season in history.
And the Trojans showed up an hour late to the Sun Bowl Banquet. It was a tacky display.

Can Jimmy Sexton still the tempest and make a deal among his clients to save his alma mater?

He's getting paid in this deal regardless, might as well bulls something special in the process.
