The SEC office didn't really carry the ball in the Alabama investigation, the NCAA did. No sane commissioner is going to declare war on one of his own members. Slive has already run one league where people whined and moaned about the tactics of the conference's most visable coaches. He did squat. I can't imagine things being any different now.I don't think Slive wants to sanction any of his member schools, for sure....but just as the other schools circled the wagons to go after Bama, if Kiffin starts having too much success and something smells funny, I wouldn't be surprised to see some interesting alliances formed.....Not saying that will happen, just throwing a scenario out there where Slive would be forced into looking closer
