Kiffin on if Butch's program is in the right direction

In one year he had a winning season of seven wins coming into a program that just had five wins the season before!

He used what he had to pull in a higher recruiting class than any the previous decade.

The entire program was rejuvinated. If you remember, it was at an all time low. Well, since Battle any way.

Or, he took over a program 2 years removed from a 10 win season and SECCG appearance.

And you think Kiffin "rejuvenated" the program? Lol!! Dude, come on. Kiffin was good on game day, much better than the guy currently on our sidelines....but he left a freaking mess when he left for USC.

What did he accomplish?

Eric Berry? Montario Hardesty? Jones's first year roster was comparable to Kiffin's. Jones had more talent at OL, but that's it. And when all the OL left, Jones roster may have actually been a bit worse his 2nd year.

KB, there is a difference from a SECCG appearance and a SEC Championship.

There is also a difference between (two) back to back and single (one).

Come on now, you know this!

CLK putting his two cents in for a Preds outdoor game at Neyland is somewhat of an accomplishment.

I know! I really don't like LK, but I think he really regrets leaving Tennessee. And why is a reporter asking him about a preds game in Neyland? Was he wearing a preds jersey or something?!!

The real question: Why should any Tennessee fan give a damn about what Lane Kiffin thinks?

CLK is obviously a strong OC and understands that part of the game...but he hasn't proven anything as a HC...he just hasn't .....

He accomplished a 7-6 record... Jones has won 9 games two years in a row, wtf?

Dude had BAMA to within a FG of a win. Should have beaten UCLA and won the bowl but he didn't lose to USCe and Vandy!

We will never know but I'm pretty sure he would have had three more wins with last years team. As bad as it is to say, even Dooley would have done that!

OP, at least Butch WANTS to be a Vol. Remember that time your beloved Kiffin gave his team and every Vol fan the middle finger? I couldn't care less what Kiffin thinks. Your agenda is tiring.

Luck is the QB (Arkansas-98) dropping the ball.
Breaks is a LB jarring it loose.

Luck is a starting RB (Florida-01) being put out the week before.

Breaks is your team putting the starting QB & RB (LSU-01) out of the game. Lol-but still couldn't win.

Luck is the Referee calling a personal foul (Florida-04) even though both teams had players slap each other.

There are plenty of other examples.

Luck is how the funny shaped ball bounces.

Injuries happen. That's football.

Poor officiating happens(not luck).

Players blow up plays causing fumbles, the way the ball bounces or just sits there it the "luck" part.

We do need to catch some more breaks. Nothing wrong with luck. I'll take more luck too.

I'll get take CBJ over CLK. CLK is a very good OC. He hasn't proved anything as a HC. Butch needs to manage the game a little better and improve PR skills. CLK can't manage the off field issues. Imagine CLK managing the title 9 issue. Imagine the smart as things he would have said, if he even stayed long enough to comment.

Butch hasn't been perfect but he has had some bad luck on big issues. The title 9 thing had to hurt recruiting and the mass of injuries last year. You don't expect to hire one of the top DCs and have your defense get worse.

I believe CBJ is a solid top 20 coach. We will see if he can get over the hump and move into the top ten. I feel his hands were tied the first two years on staff salary etc. I think we are just beginning to see the kind of staff he wants with the defensive hires. Looks like he is still shopping for bargain coaches on the offensive side.

How many members of that "high recruiting class" hung around long enough to make an impact? I'll hang up and listen.

If he would have hung around more or most of that class would have hung around.

You have to ask the same about Fulmer and Dooley. Everybody knows new coaches run players off and bring new ones in.
