Kiffin off to hot start

I love how every Florida fan is distancing themselves from all that stuff now. They just wanted to win against UT. They would never try to blow out a team to prove a point or call timeouts in the last minute to rub it in. Never.

Yes it's amazing how some of them "conveniently" forget all those things that, before the game, they were parading around saying.

Nope. If I had to guess at what a "moral victory" actually is it would be a loss that you don't feel so bad about because you did better than you expected.

UT's performance goes well beyond that. They got the attention of the CFB world. They got the attention of the recruits they need to turn this series around. They got grudging respect from the Gators themselves. They kicked the neighborhood bully in the teeth and even though they lost the fight... the bully will never be able to disrespect them again.

Which pretty much invalidates any criticism or argument you might make...

Again, 7 lines to say "Moral Victory". Every man feels that perception gives him an invincible belief of the existence of that which he perceives. Your preception is that UT gained respect by losing to the perceived "bully" by only 10 points and got the attention of the CFB world. Your perception is that UT is the darling of the CFB world for losing to Florida by only 10.

In reality, the CFB world won't think twice about this game after week 4's games. This wasn't Stanford over USC or Appy St. over Michigan. This was a decent, scrappy UT team getting beat by fewer points than most thought. I know you want to believe it was a ground breaking, program-changing event, but in actuality it was just another game on the schedule. UT will get their recruits and UF will get theirs and this game won't change that.

Most don't think about it now, except Florida fans, and hopefully y'all won't after this Saturday.

If only most of the people on here would forget about this game and move on  We learned some things from this game moving forward. UT's defense is no joke, Monte's schemes are just brilliant and can help mold walk-on's into legitimate starters on defense. The other thing we learned is this team is scrappy, fighting for every yard and doing it until the final whistle. Let's move on to the Ohio game!

Agreed. If anything, it was a potential obstacle on the path to changing the program that was avoided (by not getting embarrassed). Not an accomplishment in itself, but rather an insult avoided.

I agree with this 100%.

I agree with you as well...Wow, that's two in a row.

This post demonstrates why Gator fans wear hats, so you can't see the scar from the circumsision.

Regarding the highlighted area above, the content of your entire post says otherwise.

UT was nothing more than annoying ants at the UF picnic. Nothing more.

Mr Two Bits is totally right about the Picnic and Ant reference, i have photographic prove of Monte Kiffins defense and Tim Tebow.

Well this has pretty much been how the media spun that game.

And you are apparently pretty insecure about it b/c instead of talking about it with your Florida friends, you felt the need to come to a Tennessee board and try to insult us to make yourself feel better.

That game showed 2 things:

(1) we have a lot of things to work on before we get back to being a contender

(2) Florida is not that much better than we are

We were expecting (1).......nobody was expecting (2).......hence, the panic in Gainesville

Lane Kiffin is off to a hot start at 3 and 0 with two hard fought moral victories. Tennessee's "new age" run-out-the-clock offense gave the Gators fits all day and eventually was able to get the ball into the endzone. That fantastic effort, along with their impressive performance against a middle-tier Pac-10 team has landed the Vols at the top of the new AP moral perfomance poll. The Vols were just able to edge out Notre Dame, who was forced to settle for the actual victory against Michigan St., for the top spot. Lane Kiffin commented about how Tennessee showed its toughness in Gainesville and star safety Eric Berry said that the Vols proved to the nation what Tennessee football is all about.
Meanwhile in Gainesville, Coach Urban Meyer was forced to give an explanation for the Gator's lackluster "scoreboard" victory over the Vols. Meyer was caught in an obvious lie when he mentioned that a number of key Florida players were sick with the Flu. Despite reports of Flu outbreaks on the UF campus and at other programs across the country, its unlikely that the UF players would be susceptible to the disease or that it would affect their performance. Meyer also attempted to blame his team's performance on what he referred to as "conservative" playcalling by Tennessee. In response to this accusation, Kiffin remarked that if he was ever unhappy with his teams performance, he would just say they had the flu. But at 3-0 with two moral victories, what does Kiffin have to be unhappy about?
Funny!! And I thought UT was just in Urbies head. Seems he's under the skin of all of ya. Go sucker punch somebody....make your coach proud
